Photographer/Video price question.. (sorry another one!)

Hi everyone! This is my first official post! I've been lurking on this board for a couple months now, and since wedding planning has officially kicked into high gear, I have questions... lots of questions.

I received a quote from a popular photographer on this board, $2800 for 2 photogs, DVD with all pics, 700 printed proofs, and E-shoot. I really like this company and my photographer seems like a great guy! Now for some reason I thought getting a videographer would only cost another $1K.. but I was wrong!! Seems like basic packages run close to $2K. If I were to book photog/video separately that's going to be $4800!! Now I know a LOT of brides get photo/video package through Duet, do you think I could get a cheaper price for similar package with them? Any and all help is appreciated... thanks ladies!!!

No Duet charges around 4600 so you save 200 on it only

I am spending $4600 for both. I got a quote from velvet for 4300, but I prefer duet. For what you want that (I think) is the best price.

I used ADA Studios. I did both photography and video for $3900. YAY! With all the albums for the parents. They give 25 thank you dvds from the ceremony. ALL proofs. 2 videos plus 1 raw footage. Amogst other things.

Why don't you speak to Duet and tell them what you can afford. They will work with the client to get the business.

I think I might give Duet a call... out of curiosity for those of you who did book a photo/video package in the $4-$5K range... did you get albums included in that price? For my photog. quote of $2800, I am not getting any albums only 700 printed proofs... just wondering... thank you!

I got my videographer seperate from my photographer... I am paying $1300 through get in tune productions. I also heard golden moments is around the same price.

ETA: I am playing $2700 for 2 photogs. epics, printed proofs, and proofs on CD...no albums.

Im paying $5k for a photo/video package from Duet. They do have less expensive packages but it won't be substantially different from the quote you got. You wouldn't be saving that much if you switched.
