I dont like how they dont take the engagement shots on the weekend, it's hard enough to get days off from work when you are sick.

i would look at other photographers
I agree, why would you want to go with a photographer with a bad rap??? There are sooo many out there..

i thought bethsiar and evenedan's pictures from ************** were some of the best pictures i've seen on here!
I have heard good and bad about them...but I have to say that they have some of the best work I have ever seen. I have 2 very good family friends who have used them and are thrilled.
They are expensive, but if price is no issue I think they are well worth looking at. JMO

The name is blocked b/c I think there was a problem w/ someone on here and that vendor.
I have never heard one bad thing about BM until I joined LIW. I know 3 family friends that used them, and my cousin who just got married a few months ago and all of them raved about their work. Their proofs along w/ their videos came out great!
Def go check them out and see for yourself, like i said people on here don't have the greatest things to say about them but everyone has different experiences it goes w/ everything you book. Go check it out for yourself, everyone has different tastes

many places take e- shots on the weekend...Duet is a big one, as long as they are not booked up with weddings

We used them for our wedding in July. I thought that they were wonderful! I loved our photographers and our proofs were amazing!!

We did ours on a tues because that is really the only day that DH has off so a week day was not an issue for us.
This is the post about the lighting assistant that never showed.
It seems odd that she would be pleased with her proofs if she didn't have the lighting assistant. Maybe one wasn't needed (I don't think I'm having one from BM since mine is during the day). Also, she was upset because she didn't get some pictures, even if they were bad. Good photographers generally don't give you bad proofs, and you can't expect every shot to come out. That's just the breaks!

And if I seem to be championing BM a lot, it's just because I am nervous about all my vendors (I would be nervous no matter what! It's just my way), so I'm trying to make myself feel better too! But I am actually least nervous about them, really!

I assume that she had paid extra for the lighting assistant because that is what I am doing with my photographer. You can definitely get great pictures without one, though.
If you are happy with your choice, that is what matters. I just think you should have whatever info there is out there about your vendors.
I don't want you to think I'm against BM, but from the reviews, I wanted to steer a new bride away from them--which may or may not be the right thing to do.
I am using some vendors who don't have much commentary on here at all. They are smaller companies but all have been in business for a long time. I'm comfortable with it but some people might not be.
It's your wedding. You like BM. I can say what I want, and you can say stuff about my vendors but if you are happy with your wedding, and I am with mine, it's all good, right?

Do not be nervous! I had posted on this thread yest and like i said i know several people that used BM and they ALL LOVED their proofs, pictures, and video!!
No one should be 'steering' anyone away from any vendor. Just b/c a few people give bad reviews on LIW doesnt mean that the photographer is bad. Everyone has different tastes and opinions but we also have to remember that there are people on this website that are using BM and like their work. Your best bet for any vendor is to go check them out for yourself
