My girlfriend booked her photographer and has had a change of heart. Does anyone know if it's possible? And, if so do you lose your deposit?

Re: Photography Cancellation Question
Usually you lose your deposit at the very least, she should look over her contract as the PP said-the terms will be there

Re: Photography Cancellation Question
How far away is her wedding? Sometimes....sometimes you can get your deposit back if they can fill the date. If it's too short of notice though, she will probably lose it.

I also had a change of heart, and I lost my deposit....but I have been able to rest easy since! Some people would call me high maintenance, but i went with my heart!

Re: Photography Cancellation Question
she has to look at the contract to see how much notice the photographer requires. the particulars should all be in there.

Re: Photography Cancellation Question
Most likely she will lose the deposit. She should read over the contract and give them a call to find out for sure.
She also might be able to negotiate in the case that she found a better price. I wouldn't feel bad about letting a vendor know that someone else has a better package, to see if they could make a match

Re: Photography Cancellation Question
i would suggest reading the contract before she decides to contact the photographer. we were able to use the deposit $ towards an engagement shoot, so we didn't really lose it.

Re: Photography Cancellation Question
If she just booked it, they may give a few days otherwise most are non refundable.
