Hi all, I am new to this forum, but I need your LI expertise. I'm planning my Babylon wedding from syracuse. It's going smoothly, except for this one task. I can't find a photographer i trust.
I've looked at leli and bella pics with shawna, both of which i like. but i can't tell which will do a good job that day. i want candids - no looking at the camera for me - but leli seems kind of posed. has anyone worked with either?
or, do you have a suggestion? i would liek to spend between 1500 and 2000...i don't want albums, just the proofs. any help would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks, jg

I used Proline Studios. Their cheapest photo pkg is $2495, but that's including the bridal photo album & parent albums. I'm sure you can negotiate a price not including them.

Duet and Patken are the most popular on the boards it seems, and they always get RAVE reviews. Don't forget to check out Twelfth Night Photo also.

Check out Perceptions . We were able to customize our package so they might be able to work with you and just give you the proofs. I've seen their proofs before and they are the square kind without stamps or labels on them, which is great. They're all photojournalistic, but you could hire a second, traditional photographer as well (we did this to appease our parents).
Another graat photojournalist is Willi Wong in Manhattan. His work is primarily digital these days though, so I'm not sure how it would work as far as proofs.
How is the weather in Syracuse? I went to college in Clinton so I spent many weekends making the 1 hour drive to the Carousel Mall--I loved Kahunaville!

I did the same thing from Ithaca! Kahunaville was great, and I really miss Wegman's! Anyway, we are using Duet . They are excellent, and might give you just proofs for $2000....

In your situation being that you dont want albums, I would definitely check out 12th night. Silverfox also works similar with an a la carte menu. They sometimes share photographers, so I would look into the both of them. Good luck!!

Nooooooooo I loved their lobster mashed potatoes. Now I have no reason to go back up there--except maybe my alumni lacrosse game.

TWELFTH NIGHT!! They are the best. Dominic is so trustworthy, he actually sold me on a cheaper package. I got my pictures back and they ARE AMAZING! I couldn't believe it. They are art! i don't know how I am going to pick some for an album. Not to mention, his packages start under $1000! I totally recommend him. I am a very happy bride!

try twelfth night. he quoted me somewhere between 1300-1500 for one photographer. two photographers was somewhere in the 2300-2500 range. they shoot in both film and digital, and they will give you the negatives and digital proofs on a cd so that you can make your own album.
