Photography Help!
I`m a newly engaged girl, and boy, is this overwhelming! I know this topic has been tossed around forever, and I`ve searched through the old posts, but maybe you could all help to make my life a little simpler. If it`s not too much trouble, could everyone please list their photography company, which photographer they are using, the contact info, and maybe what price range they`re in. ($-1,000 $$-2,000 $$$-3,000 etc.) Actually, any info would be GREATLY appreciated!! This would help immensely! I`m sure all of the other newly engaged girls will agree. Thanks in advance!

Some info that might help
I found that there is no rule of thumb for the prices of photographers. I saw good $2000, and bad $6,000. Best thing to do is first decide your needs that way you have an idea of what your need in order to get the correct prices. For instance, I need 3 parent albums, not just 2. Then you need to consider what is a responable cost that you can afford. For instance, when looking for bands I knew we could never spend over $5,000 so I did not look at $7,000 bands. Same goes for photographers. If you can really only afford $2000, then do not waste your time and cause yourself grief by meeting with $5,000 photographers. You will also want to get some feedback from here, and make sure you view entire albums, not just sample shots taken from lots of different weddings. It is super easy to get 2 good shots at a wedding, more difficult to get 50. Plus that shows the quality and consistency of the work. Look at more than one album too. I booked Mark Kuaffman Studios. He is on the higher end of photography costs on LI. If you e-mail me I will send you some details on all of the photographers that I meet. [email protected] I will totally recommend Wild Rose for video (around $1500).

I saw many photographers...
I went with Imagine Studios. It depends on what kind of style you are looking for, as well as what you want to spend. I went to 12 photographers before choosing imagine, that`s right 12! I checked out all of the popular ones you hear about on this board, and some other ones that you may not find out about here. If you like, I can discuss them in detail with you so you don`t have the aggravation that I had (picking a photographer was the most difficult part of the planning). My email is [email protected], If you email me with what you are looking for, I can suggest where you should go, so you don't waste your time. I will be glad to help you. It would make me feel good to know that all my hard work and weeks checking out photographers will benefit other brides. P.S. I second michele31`s vote for Wild Rose Video. I am using them too, the day after her!

Im also using Mark Kauffman & Wild Rose...
I saw many photographers before choosing Mark's studio. I completely agree with Michele. Figure out exactly what you need, what style you want and the maximum you can afford. Photos are something that will be with you for the rest of your life - so take your time in making this decision. You want to be 100% confident in who you are choosing.

Photography Help!
I`m pretty open with my photography budget, although I`d like to keep it under $5000. I just figured since there seem to be a lot of new girls on here, I`d ask for who everyone is using. This way we`d have a good kind of master list. (maybe it`s a stupid idea)Sorry, I should have included this in my original post. :)

We Used Laurie Studio...
...and were thrilled with the outcome. Everything about our photography experience was a pleasure! He starts at $2000, and goes higher depending on how long you'd like him to stay. Check out his website if you'd like. : ) www.lauriestudio.com Good luck, and have fun! : )

Impact Imaging
We choose to go with Conrad Rego of Impact Imaging. His website is www.impactimagingonline.com He is very reasonably priced and I really liked him and his work. We are paying $1095 for a wedding album for us and parent albums as well as all the proofs. Hope this helps. Best of luck with your planning and congrats on being engaged!

I second Impact Imaging
We met with Conrad last week and booked him on the spot. We had met with about 6 other photographers and his books were far better than any of the studio's we visited. He has a great eye and I think our pics are going to be fabulous. Also I loved that you can get a photo of whatever you want on oil canvas to be the album cover! We are paying about $1400 and we are getting our book, 1 parents book, 2 parent folios, a couple of 8x10 and all our proofs (approx. 350 proofs). Also you can self design the book (i.e. have one 5x7 with 3 little pics around it instead of all 8x10 in our book). Wow am I a an advertisement for him or what! But I really am very happy with choosing him.

Classic Look Photography
They are between 2-3K. I met with James the owner, and really liked him. They are located inside the wedding center on Old Country Road across the street from Fortunoff's.

We used Patken.....
We used Steve from Patken. My sister used him for her wedding 2 years ago, and we loved the pics. So we decided to go with him due to his great reputation. You can go in their and say that you dont want to pay any more than $2000, and they will work a package for your budget, which I thought was great!!!Welcome New Vendors
