Re: Photography prices
honestly this is hard to answer, bc what one person thinks is a good price another person will completely disagree...Some people want to stay under $2000, others under $4000 and so on. The best price is whatever is within your budget, if you like a photographer alot and want to book them and are comfortable with the price and see that it will work with your budget then go for it. Also of course depends ALOT on what is included in your package, some have 1 or 2 photographers this will make a big difference. Albums, proofs, some give thank you dvds so you have to look at overall package to see what youre getting.
I also would look to see if they include the e-shoot in the price

Re: Photography prices
I called a couple of photo/video places and made an appointment with a few of them bec that is what I am booking next.
Franklin Square Photo: for 2 videographers, 2 photographers, all retouching done, and some more I cant remember for $6,995. I think that is a great price, I told my FH and he flipped.
Patken: Photo starts at 2,200 and video starts at 1,500
Sherwood Triart: video starts at 1,795 and photo starts at 2,995, for 2 photo its 4,690
But you should def visit them to get a feel of their work and the prices vary depending on the packages you want, and extras

Sorry I hit the wrong button. . .My friend used Sherwood tri-art and she paid $5000 for 1 photo. and that didn't really include a lot. Her pictures, however were amazing!! I went to ADA and the person who helped us wasn't the best. I read past posts and and didn't hear all positives. I spoke to a friend who owns a videography company and they were against ADA. They heard bad things from some of the same clients they had. I have a lot of friends that used Patken. . .One friends pictures were amazing and another friend cried when she saw her pics. She had every reason to. It def. depends on the person.
We were quoted from Duet today: 1 photographer and 1 photojournalist 12x12 photo album any style (upto 60 images) 2 5x7 parent albums (24 images) 1 16x20 9 5x7 ( for my bridal party) 2 11x14 1 8x10
About 2000 pics taken. . . 600 of the best proofs are put into a photo album for you and all 2000 are on a photo DVD library. (printable jpeg)
He also said he can throw in some more 8x10's as a gift. I was trying to see how much he would give us. all of that for $3600 +tax.

I have never heard of ADA, but the Duet price for all of that sounds really good. I know ST does amazing work, I wouldnt mind paying a little extra when you know the photos will turn of perfect, but you never know, Im torn, lol

Re: Photography prices
i think it's a toss up between quality and price. there are excellent reviews of duet, patken, and a bunch of other studios. but all their styles can be very different. you should pick some studios that have similar styles of photography and then compare/contrast their package and prices. that's also a good way to negotiate the price or have them throw more things into the package when you've got a better idea of what the market is like.

I think you will always have a little of a mixed review with every photog place. I am using ADA and we are very happy so far. I loved their style and one of my friends used them and her oics were amazing. I wouldn't base everything on reviews. Go with who you feel comfortable with and the style you like

I agree with you on the reviews and how you feel. If you liked your friends pics and feel comfortable with them, that's great. I liked their pics and books. When I left there I thought positive about using them. The only thing I wasn't happy with was the lady who helped us. She was very condesending toward my fiance. teslling him he doesn't lot very photogenic and he has a lot of shadows.
