I just started planning my wedding this week. It was a spur of the moment decision and now it's only 5 months away. Everything seems to be going smoothly but I was shocked by the cost of photographers and videographers. Has anyone found any deals?

who have you looked at?
look into a reputable photographer, instead of trying to find a deal or you may be sorry in the end.

I've gotten a recommendation that Imagine Studios was good and the house photographer at the reception hall is A & D Photography. Have you heard anything about either of them? Any other recommendations?

There are a couple of brides here on this board that have used Imagine and they pictures are beautiful!! You should do a search a you will find positive responses on Imagine. I haven't heard on the other photographer you mentioned.

Cassarino seems to have their work all over Long Island. But the sticker shock will hit you pretty much everywhere. Probably around 3g's with Video right?

I booked ADA Studios for my May Wedding, I was impressed from our first appointment, they have about 5 different packages to choose from, I too was surprised at the prices of photographers. I have not booked or looked into videography yet.

I agree with Jennbaby...make sure you like the style and product of the photographer first and the price second. Yes, photography & video is shockingly expensive but you only get one shot to record the day.
