Photos are copywrighted?

Original post by pupidda122505

I spoke to my photographer last night and was hounding him for my engagement shoot photos (I've been waiting over 4 months for them). I told him I need them within the next 3 weeks, because I'm planning on using the pictures to make a guestbook on mypublisher. He told me that I won't be able to do it, because professional photos are copywrighted and no one else has the rights to them, which means they can't reproduce them in any way. He siad if I want a photo guestbook he has to make it for me and I'm assuming that he's gonna charge me a pretty penny for it, when I could get it for under $30 online. Have any of u run into this as well? I see so many girls here making the photo guestbook using professional pictures...have u had any problems?

Yes- ALL photographers work is copywrighted. It suucks but it's their way of keeping themselves in business...

It does stink. its their way to nickle and dime u to death. like after the wedding if u see a pic that u want to enlarge or get a double of or anything like that.. where u can go to cvs and get it dome for almost mothing they will charge an arm and a leg for.

the guy who shot my brother in laws wedding wanted 5 bucks to make a double fo a pic 4 x 6. what a crook

Exactly. My photographer works the same way. It really does s uck
