Not sure if my late reply will help you anymore, but figured I'd reply anyway.
Phuket is really nice, but I think May is the start of rainy season over there so you may want to check that out. I was there last September and the weather wasn't the best...but you might be ok in May and just miss it.
Otherwise, Thailand is super cheap and probably a good place to live it up on your honeymoon!!
