I'd hate to say it... but if the Mets can do this trade... they should do it.

Both players put up respectable numbers. But if the Mets have no intention on putting Piazza back at Catcher for next season... this is a trade you HAVE to make. I'd rather have Green (a proven 1st basemen) at 1st over Piazza who is still learning the position.

Both players make about 16mil next year and are in the final year of their contracts.


If this do this trade... then the Mets should make a move for Jason Varitek to play Catcher. Let Phillips backup. Vance walks since he is a FA.

If the Mets can get rid of Piazza they should. There are much better players out there for the amount of money he's making.

I love Vance, I've met him and his family and he is such a sweet person! But player...eh.

on a side note, what's it gonna take to get pedro in a mets uni? haha then the yankee fans will hate us even more!

I don't want Pedro - let him go to the Yankees. I don't want a repeat of the whole Glavine saga. Pedro is on the way down. I rather see them make an effort for Pavano.
