They all sound great but this one would get my vote.

* Shrimp and Clams Oreganata
Jumbo shrimp and whole littleneck clams on the half shell prepared with garlic, lemon, white wine, butter and topped
with a savory garlic and oregano bread crumb garnished with lemon

If your not looking to do one that is an upgrade you can't go wrong with the pasta.

Penne Rigati al Filetto di Pomodoro
Quill pasta served with a light tomato sauce
made with plum tomatoes, sweet onions and olive oil simmered with fresh basil

I'd pick one of these, due to the fact that some people can't eat shellfish or seafood, some people hate mushrooms (in my family), and some fear the artichoke. These would be the safe choices, but that's me, safe so that everyone can enjoy.


Melon and Prosciutto

Penne Rigati al Filetto di Pomodoro
Quill pasta served with a light tomato sauce
made with plum tomatoes, sweet onions and olive oil simmered with fresh basil

Mosaic of Sliced Fruits and Berries
Sliced honeydew and cantaloupes melons, pineapple, and oranges
garnished with strawberries and mint

Stuffed Shells 'Al Forno'
Extra large pasta shells freshly stuffed with ricotta and Romano cheeses
and baked in plum tomato sauce

I, personally, would love any of them. My suggestion is not to upgrade though when there are so many great choices.

Crespelle 'alla Ortolana' is a nice touch, I haven't seen that yet as an app or the fruit with berries is a very nice idea as well.

IMO, I would steer clear of the seafood b/c many people are allergic.

If you don't mind an upgrade I would do the figs w/ prosciutto. They are totally unique and OUT OF THIS WORLD!!

If you do mind the upgrade, melon and prosciutto.

I would personally go with the melon and prosciutto. Knowing Lombardi's the cocktail hour will have lots of pasta and eggplant. It is light and a yummy start. Just My Opinion

I love everything and you have a GREAT selection, but you have to keep in mind that some people are allergic to shellfish so that rules the seafood dishes out.. and I liked the stuffed artichoke, but it's messy (at least it was for me when my grandmother made it!!)

I agree about the allergies - i wouldnt pick seafood as an app.

why don't you set up a poll? it might be easier to view the results

Same here - I am a very picky eater, so the crepes are good because you can choose your filling and the shrimp coctail is good because it's plain. I know my coctail hour has a lot of pasta and heavy stuff, so these are a bit lighter, too

It all sounds so yummy no wondering you are having a tough time. I know I'm not narrowing it down but here are my choices

1) Penne Rigati al Filetto di Pomodoro (safest choice, most people like pasta)
2) Stuffed Shells
3) Eggplant (not everyone likes eggplant though)
