Did you ask your 'old' best friend from high school? Family members?
I don't know if it's proper etiquette to ask girls who have asked you to be their bridesmaid in the past.
I want to ask just my close friends in my PRESENT life but don't want to offend anyone.

Re: Picking Bridesmaids
Two 'friends' have hinted that they want to be my bridesmaids. You should never have a bridesmaid out of pity, right???
My FH's mom wants her friend's DAUGHTERS to be my bridesmaids too!!!!
What is going on here?!?!?!

Re: Picking Bridesmaids
i have 1 moh and 4 bm's and 1 jr bm. moh is my sister, 1 bm is sister, 1 bm is niece, jr bm is niece, and 2 bm's are my best friends from high school. sometimes i second guess myself on the last 2, but they were there from the start of my relationship with fi and i think they belong up there with us. just go with your heart when picking, don't think about offending anyone, its Your day not theirs. i just asked them by phone and in person, however, if i could do it all over again i would make them cute cards with poems. as you can guess, i asked them before i found LIW and learned all the cute things you can do! ~lacey

Re: Picking Bridesmaids
I will have: 1 moh (my sister) 4 bridesmaids (my sister, 2 cousins, his sister) 3 flowergirls (my nieces)
I will have 2 of the 4 closest friends do readings at the church. How many girls can I have? I can't pick and choose of my 4 closest girl friends so I decided to just do family.

Re: Picking Bridesmaids
I have 3 girls
1 MOH - my sister
1 BM - my 'best friend' from jr high/HS and today
1 BM - my 'best friend' from college
The two BM are both OOT and have been for years, but we keep in touch with phone calls, emails and visits when $$ isn't a problem. The contact isn't as frequent as it was when they were living in NY, but I can't imagine my day without them both by my side, so I included them.
One of them has been married twice. I was at her first wedding, and we lost touch during her second, so I didn't even know about it until way after it happened. The other thought it would be too much of a hassle to plan with her sister as her MOH in Colorado, me as BM in NY with her wedding in AZ. However, I flew into AZ a full 4 days before the wedding, and did all the MOH stuff with her, since her sister only flew in the day before, and we had a blast - just the two of us putting all the finishing touches on her wedding.

Re: Picking Bridesmaids
Pick whoever you want!!! I didn't pick one of my oldest friends to be the MOH and hes..she was pissed...but it's my day and I feel closer at this point in my life to choose my college rommmate (you can't get any closer when you have lived with someone for 4 yrs)
I am having 6...but I wold have liked seven (I just couldn't come up with another guy)
1sister-in-law 1 future sister-in-law 4friends
Honestly since my friedns have no prospect of marriage....I probably won't be in theirs..and I can't say that I will be insulted....I will just be at a different point in my life by the time they get married anyways. But if they asked, I wouldn't say no.

Are You Joking??? Your FMIL's Friend's Daughters? No! NO WAY.
Look, you cannot let anyone bully you around. As to your 'friends' are they FRIENDS or are they 'friends' because 'friends' make the worst possible Bridesmaids. You need girls who are going to back you up and take away the stress, not add to it.
