Pink Tie

Pink Tie

I want the groomsmen to wear light pink ties because my colors are black and pink. My FH is completely against it because he feels its not 'manly' I think its so hot and he doesn't have to wear a pink tie the groomsmen do.
What do you ladies think??

I went to a wedding where the grooms had pink ties and it looked great! Let me see if i have a picture..

if the gm will wear pink vests too i say no...i think it is too much...

but if they will wear a black vest i think it looks nice...

awww i only voted 'no' because my FH would say the EXACT same thing, so would his GMs. What can i say, its his day too and I wouldn't want him wearing something he didn't feel good about. He's ultra modest, so he's not the kind of guy who'd wear tails, a top hat, or a kilt, no matter how much I begged and pleaded :) Or pink...
Rather than be upset I'd look for a compromise (no time like the present to learn that!!)... perhaps a light silver tie/vest??? I think that might look STRIKING played against light pink dresses! A good tux place can definitely give you some beautiful choices that you can both feel good about?

I say yes to pink ties! I had three guys on my side of the BP that wore solid pink ties and then my GM's wore striped ties where the darkest pink was the color of my girls dresses. I think it looked really good, and I have seen almost all of the guys where the ties again (we bought them 'real' ties) which mean they must have liked them!

Maybe you can suggest a striped tie or other pattern that is not fully pink?

My guys would never go for that.. I was going to suggest same as Colette.. I'm prob going to do same thing for my guys and my girls will be in light blue & sage. I personally don't want to be too matchy matchy..

YES! pink was one of our colors. we didn't do the pink vests because we thought it was too much pink for our liking... so we did black vests. Here's a pic...

Don't like it with the pink vest, but I do like it with silver or black, and I also like it over a black shirt. But I agree with a PP, it is his day too, so he needs to agree, I would collect a bunch of pics and maybe ask him to ask his GM's if he doesn't agrre after that. GL!

I agree with the above poster-if its only a pink tie with a black vest yes, if its pink tie/pink vest definitely no.

i like the pinks that arent well, too pink? The paler salmony color works as do the stripes.. love the stripes! Make it manly with a black vest and show him some photos... guys totally need to see it to get it

If my FH was opposed at ALL I would say no.

We get to pick our dress, our shoes, our hair, etc, etc, etc....what does he get to pick?

If he objected I would never make him do it. I think this is one area where he should have total freedom to wear what he wants to wear....

sorry - that's just me.

ETA: I just re-read. Even though HE might not have to wear the pink tie...I'd ask him if he thought the GM would feel uncomfortable wearing the pink ties. I dunno...I just feel bad for the guys sometimes. We have control over everything, ya know?

I think stripes are the way to go personally. I don't like the exact match look, and I know most guys don't like to wear pink. I went with striped tie and silver vest. Good luck!
