I am being frugal and using the place cards that The Swan Club gave us. They're pretty simple and just have M___________________ and then under that, 'You are seated at Table No. ______'
I don't have the greatest handwriting and I am not hiring a calligrapher for the place cards! I was thinking of using the clear mailing labels and a scripty font for the names and table #s. I could use the large 2x4 labels so one label would fit like 5 names (if that makes sense) and then I would cut them into strips to fit on the M_____________ line....
Has anyone else done this? How does it look? Just curious!!

I was going to use clear labels, but i just hand wrote them myself. I used the ones from the RH and we just added a little flower sticker on each one. They looked really cute! I think the clear label would look fine.

You don't think it would look weird w/ 2 different fonts (since the 'You're seated at Table No.' part is obviously in a different font)? I mean, obviously if I were handwriting them, that wouldn't match the font already on the card so I guess it's fine? This is the stupid c r a p I worry about

we all worry about that stuff. DH was supposed to write ours since his handwriting is nicer than mine. But he had a headache the day we were supposed to drop them off so i ended up doing them myself. As long as they are legible and people know where to sit, then thats all that matters. Do what is easier for you!

i actually did that for my first wedding - and they were fine - you couldnt notice and especially since the rooms are usually dark - you are definately not going to notice

I think what your doing is a good idea...
if you want a super super simple way to make cute place cards?? and super cheap of course...
go to staples and get business cards in whatever color you want, or go to paper presentation in the city they have pre cut place card size paper in all kinds of colors. and then you go to staples and get white address labels and print out your place cards.. mr.____ Table __ on them.. put them together and whammo---PLACE CARDS!! ill take a pic so i can show you what i mean!

They look so cute!!! I am not sure how cheap it would be though b/c I'd still have to buy the business cards and white labels... doing it the way I suggested costs me nothing b/c I have the placecards from my RH and I already have the clear labels... I will consider it though! Thank u!!!
