place for pics before the reception

Another check off my list!!!

I booked the Vanderbuilt museum for pictures beforehand - this place is so beautiful - just look on the website.
(and just incase it rains the inside has great picture places also)

thats great!! i love that place for pictures! which package did you book? ive actually never been there before but i have seen such great pictures online from there...
i wanted to take some pics there too but in order to do that I would have to literally pick another day either before or after the wedding to take them.....its a little out of the way from where my ceremony and RH are....but the place is gorgeous! CONGRATS!!!

I think i got the basic package - with pictures in the courtyard area - and all the gardens surrounding it
it is for 2 hours (but i'll get there a lil before)

I love love that there is a balcony that i can go out on - like romeo and juliet :) w/ a long staircase for my bridesmaids to stand on

ohh also it comes w/ all the inside areas too (which is goo if it rains) and the inside spiral staircases and the antiqueness of the whole place is so romantic
they also have an area that is just for the bride and groom to take pics - no one else is allowed there - you have to ask to be taken there by someone who works there (its a secret room!!!)

I just went to Vanderbilt yesterday and was so excited to book my pictures there. Once there I was told that I couldn't book the mansion, courtyard or surrounding gardens (basically the only reason to take pictures there) until 6 weeks before my wedding. They said they have to do it that way just in case they have someone who wants to book a wedding on that date. I would have to leave a $50 deposit to hold the date if it's open, which I understand but 6 weeks is cutting it really close. I can't wait until 6 weeks before to know where I am taking pictures. Sorry just needed to vent..SO BUMMED RIGHT NOW

Thats so great! Yay. I haven't ever seen it but I've heard great things on this board.

I wish I could find an indoor location out East to use in case it rains...
