placecard 'tree'

Has anyone done anything like this for their placecards?

I'm looking for any images of autumnal themed ideas for my placecards.

I saw a great image in Martha Stewart Weddings (wish I could post it here) of 'wishes' written on small papers and attached to cherry blossom branches in a vase.

And I was thinking of attaching leaf-shaped placecards to branches.

My reception is at the George Washington Manor in October and the table they put the placecards on is pretty small.

What do you think?

Anybody have any images?

Re: placecard 'tree'

I was going to do this when I had a butterfly theme. I know exactly what you're talking about from MSW. I think you have to get willow branches and then place them in styrofoam and then in a pot. They do sell them already done if you search for it.

Re: placecard 'tree'

hi Jenna!

Here are a few pictures from my friend's autum-themed wedding a few years ago (placecard, bouquet, program cover). The placecards were actually pinned to a gourd with a straight pin. All of the gourds were laid out on a table.

I don't have pictures of her CPs, but she used hollowed out pumpkins to hold flowers, berries, etc.

Michaels has the Vellum paper to put around the votive cup and you print on them.

You use tea lights, the holders are for votives so the tea lights flame does not reach the top and they dont get hot. I tested one and let it burn for about an hour and the top was still not hot.

Re: placecard 'tree'

Hi girls,
I actually did the votives as place cards...i'm gettin married on saturday. It was really easy and inexpensive. I bought the votives for .25cents each. I bought the preforated velum paper at michaels and printed them on my computer (lazer jet printer-ink jet will smudge). I fastened the velum with, believe it or not, invisible scotch tape! I also used tealights. The thing that ***** is that the Villa Lombardi just called me and said I may not be able to light them...because of safety...let's just say i will be less than happy if they tell me 2 days before that i can't use them! But I hope this helps for those who plan to use them!
