It's called Hyde Park. It's beautiful and the grounds are gorgeous if you have a nice day to go explore. It's also only 15 minutes from the Vanderbilt Mansion if you like that kind of thing (we do!). So you can make a day of visiting the gorgeous old houses, then off to a vineyard, and spend the night at a B&B in Rinebeck or Poughkeepsie. We've stayed in a suite at Inn at the Falls - they have jacuzzis but they're not too expensive, it's a cute place (a small hotel, only about 25 rooms), and it's near all that stuff. It's in Poughkeepsie. And you can use it as your base and go explore New Paltz too, as someone recommended. You can spend the day hiking around Mohonk Mountain House's property, which is breathtaking. Also a lot of vineyards near there, and really cute places to eat.

I want to go somewhere! away for like the weekend with my FH
i want to go during memorial day weekend since it would be our 1000 day anniversary~

where can I go for 1-2days thats not that far?

i know you girls know alot of places =]
any suggestions?

names of the places would be nice~

I am so glad you started this post because I am looking for a place to go for memorial day weekend too. We called one place and they wanted a 3 night minium The whole point was so I didnt have to take off work so we wanted to go Sat- Mon. We also didnt want to spend a ton of money

most holiday weekends hotels have a 3 night min.. out east(hamptons) that is the start of the summer season so i would book out there now or you might not get anything by the end of the month- I grew up out there- so i kind of know

FH and I love to go to wildwood NJ (its where he proposed) its got a huge board walk with tons to do and some good resturants!

I will check it out, I hope I can find someplace nice and not too expensive to go. We need a break just to get away and relax without being stressed by anything. Time to get outside and enjoy the weather and just relax.

I was looking up hotels in Atlantic city but their like 300+ a night!!!!!!!
