Planning an off season wedding

Planning an off season wedding

How many of you ladies are planning an off season wedding? What RH are you booked with and what are they offering, pp and any throw ins? What month is best in the off season?

Thanks

We picked the end of March. There is a chance of nice weather and we were able to negotiate because its still off season! From what a bartender told me, our RH basically throws the ice slide in with a little prodding.

I am a Westbury Manor bride too. When you say ice slide do you mean the thing you take shots off of?

The martini ice luge thing...

Friday at the end of March here too and I saved 15 dollars pp as opposed to doing a Friday in November. I really want an outside ceremony though. I hope the weather isn't too cold. I could deal with a chilly ceremony!

i'm in november which isn't totally off season, but a lot of halls have december/january/february deals.

i know the Thatched Cottage has a $10K deal for 100 people in the winter. Definitely look into them!

We're kinda sorta off season....I got JT to lower the minimum for the room we wanted by 25 people, and that was about it. I should have pushed for more in retrospect!

Good to know.

We are totally off season, January 22 and the deals were great. Probably about half the price of what a September wedding would be.

What RH did you book?

Thanks everyone! I am torn between a October/November or just doing totally off season since its cheaper and every penny counts since we are paying for the entire thing.

So much Stress Already!

We got married in January because we found the best deals in that month. We originally wanted December, but they spike prices up because a lot of companies have parties, and there are a lot of New Years and holiday parties as well. January is when the least amount of parties take place, so RHs throw in all sorts of deals. February has Valentine's Day in it--although it's only one day, the prices still increase from that month up!

Re: Planning an off season wedding

I always dreamt of a wedding where the weather was still warm outside but not terribly hot but with my budget I was stuck looking for a winter wedding, even November weddings were kinda pricey. I went to Leonard's of Great Neck and dealt with Antonio and after telling him my dilemma he told me I could pick any Friday from September to November and he'd give me the same price (and I'm telling you it was the cheapest price we found any where anyway!) So now I have my September wedding and the price was amazing, I honestly left there practically in tears bc I'm getting my dream wedding with a price I can afford. There place is gorgeous and I've been to weddings there before and know they have a good reputation. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

We are having a January wedding and to be honest...the winter doesn't bother me that much! i think it's a nice time for people b/c it gives them something to look forward to in the cold....

we booked with crest hollow which has pretty reasonable rates in the summer but even more in the winter... they didn't throw anything in extra b/c it was the winter but did throw in some things when asked...

as for vendors...most of them charge the same for winter and summer weddings... except for some smaller vendors like hair/mu may have slightly better rates in the winter time

I am also debating doing this. I am considering a Thursday wedding or off season - it's just so confusing!
