Re: Plastic Surgery?

I see nothing wrong with it. I just have a problem with that chick who spent over 10K to make herself look like a Barbie Doll. Can you say FREAK

Re: Plastic Surgery?

Completely against! At least for me. I wouldn't judge anyone differently if they got work done. Someone very close to me has had a face lift!

WOAH..

So you are saying if someone has plastic surgery that they don't know the real them..

Its altering the way someone looks not WHO THEY ARE!

Re: Plastic Surgery?

umm no, that's not what I meant at all. That's why I specifically stated I PERSONALLY am against it-I don't care what other people do. I just want people to love and accept me as who I am w/out having to change any part of me.

Re: Plastic Surgery?

Theresa, I do not see anything wrong with it.

I have always wanted bigger breasts, and there was a time I wanted to get them augmented, but I am too scared, so I never did it.

Re: Plastic Surgery?

Granted, but some people may be uncomfortable with themselves and having plastic surgery will allow them to restore their self esteem.

Re: Plastic Surgery?

i don't think theres anything wrong with it, as long as it's done in moderation and at the right age...i just think that sometimes it gives people false confidence and is just a cover up for insecurities that really should be dealt with in other ways....this is not always the case, but i have seen it happen...my gf had her nose done b/c all her life she thought thats what kept her from being popular with men, but now that her nose looks 'perfect' nothing has changed and she's more depressed than ever....the problem wasn't her nose, it was deeper than that...

Re: Plastic Surgery?

It depends, I am against it in general, but if someone has a bad scar in a visible place or a burn, that can now be fixed somehow, it think its ok.

But doing it for nose, boobs, stomach stapling == totally against that.

Re: Plastic Surgery?

Since I am in a mood I am saying this..

I had my NOSE done at 16 bc I had a HUGE Italian nose and was self conscious..... I had extra bones and had a huge BUMP...

When I met Ronnie I was alot Thicker lets say and I lost alot of weight and my boobs.. So to feel better and stay thin I got Implants......

I would like to do my lips to make them plump..

Do I have low self esteem.. No.. I am happy with me and my life and how far I have come..

Changing my looks does not change in any sense who I am and how people treat me.

That is like saying if you have a tatoo you are trashy .. It would be a general Sterotype.

I like people for how they treat me.. If they are 200 lbs or a Playboy model..

Who cares!

Re: Plastic Surgery?

The ONLY thing I have against it is the risk posed by having any type of elective surgery. I only let them cut me if I absolutely need it. Way too many horor stories/infections etc. Sorry for the bad side of it but it is my fear. Other than that I dont have anything against it!!!!

Re: Plastic Surgery?

Theresa,

While I have no problem with others getting any work done, I would not do it to myself.

However, didn't you know you were going to get responses like this? Why would you post this...
Sorry, but even in your first post you said 'I know here is comes' it's like you knew something was going to get started.

Re: Plastic Surgery?

B/C in the year 2003 people should be more opened minded that is all.. That is how I feel!

You should know that I Don't ever care what anyone thinks of me...

That is why I said here it comes ..

Re: Plastic Surgery?

To each his own. I have never really thought about it enough to say if I am really for it or against it for me. If others chose to have surgery that is their perogative.

Theresa - yes it is 2003, but that does not mean people are not going to have very varying opinions on all ranges of subjects and this happens to be one of them and it will probably never change. In all honesty, you have to admit that looks definetly in a lot of cases change the way someone is preceived and treated. You and I may not judge that way, but a lot of people sometimes do, unfortunate but true. As others have said, they know people who have had plastic surgery and it did not change their lives the way they were looking to change it. For people who are secure and not looking for it to change their lives I am sure it works out great. But I would guess that a lot of people who do it think it will improve their lives in some way and if that does not happen it can make them feel their lives are even worse than they thought.

For someone like you with a healthy self-esteem it works out great, but each situation is different.

Re: Plastic Surgery?

I will def get some things done when I am done having children. I figure that I will work out and get back into shape but might need a nip and tuck here and there. I would be too afraid to do anything now because I know in a few years I want to have kids and wouldn't want to wast the $$ or have any problems.

I feel to each their own. If it makes you happy and feel better about you go for it!
