I want FH to have the very best. But I can't decide on what to get him. I wanted to get him something with diamonds but I am trying to decide between platinum and gold. He's a very active person so I am looking for something that won't get damaged so easily but at the same time it will look great and stand out to those wandering eyes of other females.

FH is getting platinum for his wedding band. He wants to match mine.

Re: platinum or gold
Normally gold is perfectly fine. Some might suggest Platinum because its stronger and he does a lot of activity...but I would suggest the opposite.
Since your FH is military, and gold is a softer metal, go with gold in case of injury -- i say this because if they ever had a problem and had to immediately cut off his ring, its easier to cut the gold than the platinum. I have a friend in the military that had this happen to him.

We are going with platinum. Prefer the look of it and it is supposably a better metal.

Re: platinum or gold
I'm biased........I've always liked white gold better. But I personally can't notice the difference.

Re: platinum or gold
You crack me up!! Darren is getting White Gold, and since my son is getting the identical ring to match, his will be Platinum though. He's saying vows to my son, and presenting him with a ring But to answer your question, Darren is active too, and thats why he chose white gold.

Re: platinum or gold
If you wanna save some $ by not buying platinum, buy 14k gold.. its not too soft & will look amazing.. I cant really see any difference in gold and platinum.
I bought my FH white gold.

Becuase we're active, we both chose platinum... but this scenario never occurred to me....
Maybe gold? Gee, I hope neither of you ever have a reason to have to quickly cut off your ring!!!!
