'Platonic' spooning?

So a friend of mine asked me this question today. Is there such a thing as a platonic spoon? Say a man and a woman who have been intimate in the past spoon all night, is it possible for it to be completely platonic or are they just kidding themselves?

Re: 'Platonic' spooning?

I don't think spooning has to be sexual - I think it's more about cuddling, so I would say they're not necessarily just kidding themselves. It's the 'have been intimate in the past' part that makes me go

Re: 'Platonic' spooning?

If I caught FH 'platonically' spooning someone else, I would kick his butt! So um no I don't think that exists - too much body contact

Re: 'Platonic' spooning?

Would you spoon your girlfriend - or better yet - would a straight man platonically spoon another man?

If a man wouldn't do it with another man, then its not platonic, IMO

What an interesting point you just made. Until you put it like this I was kind of on the fence about this topic. But now......

I always think of that when a man says he did something with a woman as a friend... remember pulp fiction and the argument with the foot massage?

Re: 'Platonic' spooning?

Definately not platonic. I could not even imagine doing that with one of my friends. I love my friends but would never want to get that close to them.

I agree spooning doesn't have to be sexual. I am a very huggy, cuddly kind of person and I have shared a small bed with male and female friends and we have kind of spooned. Of course we were fully dressed.
