Please come in to discuss sleeping with the light on...or off...

Please come in to discuss sleeping with the light on...or off...

How do you deal with this?

Do you (or does your spouse) need to have the light on...Or off...

Are you in agreeance?

How do those who can not agree find a compromise?

What did you do?

Any suggestions to people who NEED a light...Or any suggestion to people who NEED the dark?

OK, it's not like I need it bright as day, but I need a little light so I don't feel like I am in a casket! DH loves pure darkness...I got a tiny little nightlight that I put by my side of the bed. He can't see it from his side, but it gives me light to see if I get up.

we both like the dark, but I like falling asleep to the TV and he hates it. So I'm trying to get used to falling asleep without the TV right now.

As for the dark, we have a streetlight outside the bedroom, it's orange in there at night, I hate it!

I need SOMETHING, like the clock or whatever. Something little with light because I get claustrophobic if not. But if there's an actual light on, I can't sleep. JT always leaves the room and watches tv downstairs if I need to sleep. He could fall asleep standing up, so there's no issues with him

I need dark. I can usually fall asleep with the tv on, but any other light is bad. And luckily he's the same. But then again he could probably sleep with the lights on and the tv blasting.

Nightlights are good for those that may need light.

My DH also can't fall asleep with the TV on, and I LOVE falling asleep with the TV on.... It's all about compromise, but it's me compromising on that one.

I sleep with a night light on. It annoys DH but I am petrified of the dark.

our bedroom is definiteely not casket -dark! We have blinds, but the outside light still comes in & we are right opposide the hallway windows of the adjacent building & tehy have BRIGHT lights on int her 24-7!

But we are both ok as long as the over head light is not on, so if oen of us is not in bed yet, teh otehr person will leave our bedsisde light on & turn the over head off, so we can see & then we turn it off when we get to bed.

We agree on sleeping with the lights off.

You guys have to compromise, one night leave the light or a nightlight on and one night turn the light off. Sorry there is no better solution

We both need complete darkness. I pull the dark velvet cutains closed, while DH covers up the clock on the cable box in our bedroom. We're like two vampires...

I need the tv to fall asleep also. I don't need lights. Brian generally sleeps with everything off. I can fall asleep with nothing if I am tired enough as long as Brian is with me. No way I could do it if I am alone.

We both like dark.

Sometimes we both fall asleep w/ the tv on, but that's what sleep timers are for!

I like to watch TV and read before I go to sleep, I have a small lamp, which I almost always fall asleep with it on and DH turns it off.

We always fall asleep with the tv on and it is usually on when I wake up in the morning. If I wake up in the middle of the night the remote is usually somewhere under DH

we sleep in the dark....when I was living alone, I slept with the tv on...more for noise than light.

DH likes to sleep with the TV on and I can usually fall asleep with it on - although I'd prefer not to

However, every morning, after my shower, I like to take a nap before I go to work, and it's then that the TV annoys me.....mostly because it's on Cartoon Network and I don't like Captain Planet so much

I love pure darkness. DH it likes to sleep with the light off but for me even the outside lights bother me. I sleep with a eye mask. I bought one a while ago at Victoria Secrets. It's soft and the elastic is not tight. I did buy a crappy one at one time and it was horrible.
