Hey listen, all you need to worry about is having a wonderful wedding......the pictures will be great regardless of who you have because they will be capturing your happiness. I wouldn't get that stressed about it! I am going with the first photographer we met with. They are really down to earth and are a husband and wife- Ruby Star. They are more about the artsy photos (capturing the moment) but will also do posed shots......hope this helps a little :o)

Maybe you should try and find a photog who has a traditional photographer AND an assistant or 2nd photog who can take the more photojournalistic 'artsy' shots. That way you get the best of both worlds! Definitely don't settle just because your family used them. Wait until you find someone who's work YOU love. Photos are the only concrete lasting memories of your day, you don't want to regret it.

photographer was really hard for me to decide on. I think we saw like 8 photographers before we decided. We had seen 6 and i was soo torn and it was causing a lot of stress. Then we made 2 more appts and finally just got that feeling when we went to Duet. we loved their work.

if you are super stressed maybe its just cuz you havent found the right one. meet with a few more.

We went to see Kornfeld Studios in RVC. Marty the owner was a doll, really. He showed us albums with varying styles - candids, traditionals and those a bit more different with the photojournalistic quality. However, when I showed a friend she just said they were 'eh' and I nearly lost it. I want them to be amazing and sure when I look at some other pages of photographs I am speechless of their artistic nature but I feel like maybe Kornfeld could do them also. I dont know but seriously I am teary as I type this. Ugh ...

Don't stress to much..we saw about 8 or so..plus priced a few before we met with the one that we both loved

photographer was the most stressful thing for me i kept searching cause i wanted to find the perfect one!!
when i went to PATKEN i just felt so comfortable and just knew that was who i was going to go with!! id just make an appointment and go meet with them. and a few other photographers so you can see which you like best!

We went to see them as well..they were our 2nd choice..did you see the converse wedding?

why not have a mixture of photos, that's what my photographer is doing for me!!! You shouldn't have to have only one style of pics. Try my photographer and videographer they are Unique Visions Studio!!!! they are very affordable and a very talented couple!!!!

We went with Patken. My sister got married last June and her pictures were gorgeous, so it was really a no-brainer.

I'm totally in the same boat! We drove 800 miles all over NYC and LI (we came from Boston) a few weekends ago to do photographer shopping, and was only able to narrow down to 3 after days of agonizing. We have just verbally committed to one, but are totally having second thoughts because the whole package turned out way more expensive than what we originally budgeted after all the little things (leather bound albums vs coffee table; extra prints; videography; etc) are added. My FH and I both feel that photos and videos are almost like an investment because they can be treasured and showcased forever. Hence the stress.

I'm so glad to know we're not the only ones! Which means others have experienced the same, which means we'll get through all these decisions-making alright in the end. =)

i think going with someone who does both is the way to go.

my photog does both, and is AMAZING! I just put some of my e-pics up in my album if you wanna check them out. North Island Photography.

i looked into and saw a lot of photographers (and stressed), but fell in love and am now confident and extremely happy!! AND YOU WILL TOO! Give it time and patience (i know, easier said than done)

u can email them and they will give you package info! my duet package is 4700 for phot and video. The photo package includes
2 photographers for 10 hours,
500 developed pics based on duets choice,
all wedding pics on CD.
a coffee table album with about 60-70 pics.
1-11x14 pic, 2-8x10 pics, 3- 5x7 pics--- which I will choose.
Plus free engagement session with photo cd.
