Please give me the strength

To make it through this day. I am totally anxious today...hands shaking on the verge of tears...so overwhelmed...i dont know what is wrong with me! Anyone else have this? I went to the mall last night with my mom to buy a lingerie and had an anxiety attack in the store and had to sit down because I felt so dizzy...i hate this!! Grr...im an idiot lol

Ya, I am pretty much like that. I am getting married in about 2.5 months and I feel so much stress and anxiety that I am getting crazy and emotional and I am a very empirical and stoic person, so this is difficult for me to allow myself to be this way. It is the combined stress of the wedding, work stress, family stress, relationship stress, money, and the pressure that I put on myself to make every aspect of everything perfect and nothing is ever perfect so you are bound to fail.

but just so you know, it is not just you

I find that as the wedding gets closer, it's so much easier for me to succumb to any anxiety I am feeling. Just focus on breathing your way through any anxiety attacks you have ... getting your brain to focus on a 'safe' place ... not saying you're anxious about getting married, but as your stress level increases as you get closer and closer ... it is much easier to let other stresses take you over.

FM me if you need anything ... HTH!

I've been having trouble sleeping the last few nights, because as soon as I lay down visions of everything I still have to get done, and visions of how I want things to go perfectly on the day of haunt me for hours.
FH and I got in bed at 10 last night and I didn't fall asleep till almost 1.

Lauren Im sure it just a whole load of feelings.. stress, happiness, excitement, overwhelemed,sp, and a few more. I would just relax alittle, breathe and remember everyting is going to be alright cause you are marrying the man of your dreams.

The stress is really bad right at the end but all I can tell you is that at some point a feeling of peace comes over you. I woke up the day of my wedding in complete peace. I was a basket case the last week so you are completely normal.

Just relax...school's over this week so you can take it easy a bit.

Re: Please give me the strength

I get like this often. I had a panic attack at a bridal showcase at my RH one time. It just happens.. especially if you are stressed out.. which duh, we are planning a wedding, we are completely stressed out.

Just try to take it easy and relax today. Take deep breaths and drink some green tea and focus on things that make you calm and happy.

I hada really bad anxiety disorder where I got panic attacks at least 3 times a day last summer. Of course I refused medicine (i hate all medications) and I found that alot of deep breathing, green tea, chamomile tea, quiet, exercise, and accupuncture really worked. I am like a completely different person. Im sure thats more info then you needed but I feel so bad when someone says they are feeling so anxious and dizzy etc b/c i know how bad it s*cks and how sometimes you just can not control it.

Your feelings are totally normal, and just as fast as they hit, they will pass! You have such a huge support group around you in your personal life and here that if there's anything any of us can do, of course we would love to help!!!!

You are definitely not alone, if that helps at all!

Hope you feel better soon!!!!!!!!

HUGS!!!!!!

Re: Please give me the strength

I am feeling the same exact way. Any little thing sets me off either into happy tears or stressed out leave me the f alone tears. My stomach is in knots and I cannot focus at work. Right now I feel like my head is going to hit my keyboard.

I am trying to stay calm and try and focus but its not happening. I have a week left to go of work and then I am off and I am trying to focus on that but its not happening.

What I have been doing is going into my room an hour before I normally go to bed, just watch some TV light a candle and try to relax. Sometimes I turn my cell off and just veg by myself. Give yourself some 'me' time and try to relax!

Wedding stress is fairly normal. Maybe you can try some breathing exercises to help you relax- here is the link to some of the ones I use as part of my headache treatment:

If it gets to be too much for you maybe you could give your doctor a call and see if he/she can prescribe you a mild anti-anxitey medication.
