Re: Please Help!! Any Florist Suggestions??

I love mine! They are a small shop in Lyndenhurst and do excellent work. They are called the Enchanted Florist 631 266 ROSE is there number.
We got an extremely good deal. They do both real and fakes and their fakes look real..
My aunt actually wants me to get fakes b/c they look so real.
I found them b/c they are associated with my hall and we saw them at a Expo there and loved there work. And we set up an appointment and sat with the owner.
If you call tell him his july 5th bride laurie told you to call..
I need all the help I can get. The Air Force might be telling me this week that my FI might not be able to have leave for our wedding. We going to use him even if we have to change our date.

The prices are AWESOME!! I was shocked myself.
If you go please respond I would love to hear what you think.

Also, before anyone says it I am not a vendor I am 070502 I just wasen't able to access my old PW when liweddings changed.

Good luck!
Laurie

Re: Please Help!! Any Florist Suggestions??

I am using a small florist in Huntington called Flowers by Michelle. I met with John (the owner) and he was really nice. He was the first florist that I sat down with that actually discussed different flowers and arrangements, as opposed to just counting how many people we had in the party and giving us a price. Before that I had met Brian from Flowers by Brian. He was so full of himself it was annoying. We also met with Danny from Pedestals who was nice, but I just didn't feel like we were getting enough information about what we would be getting.

Hi Kimmie - I saw in your profile that you're getting married at the Swan Club. I am getting married down the road at Sans Souci of Sea Cliff. I am using their house florist - Donald Hedgecock Florists. He is located in Rego Park, Queens but he is from Sea Cliff. He is really great - easy-going and flexible and really, really inexpensive. I'm getting 15 low centerpieces, bridal party flowers (total of 5 BMs, 6GM, and 2 ringbearers), bout's/corsages for 3 grandparents, 6 parents (& step-parents), my flowers (any kind I choose) and cake flowers all for under $1000. I'm not sure what his number is but his shop in Rego Park is listed in the phone book.
BTW - I also had the same experience with Flowers By Brian. They were SO expensive and I was really put off by Brian. They also harrassed me with messages on my answering machine every week until I moved and my number was disconnected. I'm sure he does a nice job but he just wasn't for me -
Good luck Kimmie!

Any Florist Suggestions?? Flower After Flower

I Loved my Florist! - Flowere After Flower 516 795 - ROSE ask for Christine.

The personal flowers were so beautiful I cried when I saw them. The centerpieces were beautiful and full and they lasted for over a week - my guests were so happy to take them home.

I am using Flowers by Brian. They were highly recommended by a friend whose family has used them so far for three weddings!

They were very professional and worked with our budget (came down from their orignial quote). I also worked with Brian. They did not harrass me unlike the previous post (..that would have turned me off as well).

Some people say they are on the high side but I guess it depends on your budget and what you want. They were similarly priced to other florists I visited. Actually, for what we wanted they came in cheaper (at least the second time around) than others (like Pedalstals) and I felt they were more flexible. What I also liked was that you can make some decisions closer to your wedding for the same price (such as style of bridal bouquet).

Burton's on Rt. 110 in Melville is great and has only had one negative post (not even that negative) for more than a year. They only do wedding flowers so they do not a huge fancy showroom to support- which translates into lower prices for brides. The prices are great and I have heard wonderful things about them for many different sources.

Flower Michele

I second the vote for Flower Michele Florist. It has been such a pleasure working with John so far. The first time we met with him we knew we wanted to book him--he has very creative ideas and his work is beautiful. We met with a few other florists, including Burtons--and Flower Michele blew Burtons away--its not so much a wedding factory, John handles the weddings himself--he is the guy you meet when you schedule an appointment. He really impressed us with the kind of detailed questions he asked--about my gown, the BM gowns, he really tied in colors and styles to our taste--we are so happy to have him doing our wedding-

Re: Flowers by Brian

We used Flowers by Brian and absolutely loved what they did for us, plus they were a pleasure to work with. We dealt with Lisa and Bobbi, and both were really nice. They were the only florist we looked at, and were truly worth every penny we spent .. we have never had one second thought about having used them on our day and never even wondered whether we should have shopped around. The flowers were amazingly fresh .. easily lasting for more than a week.

Re: Florist

I booked Pedestals, I went to Simply Elegant and did not like the work they did it seemed very basic with no creativity, But there prices were good. I went to Flowers by Brian and liked the work but Brian was to much to handle, I felt that he was pressuring me to book him. He came off very full of himself and talked bad about every other florist on long island. Stefans was a joke. So overpriced and the flowers in the showroom were dead.
I chose Pedestals because they were patient and honest with me. I loved all their work. Natalie, the consultant took me into their production and everything was amazing. Her price was a little better then Flowers by Brian and they made me very happy.

Re: Please Help!! Any Florist Suggestions??

As your going to see it all depends on what you are looking for. I met with alot of people and Flowers by Brian and Pedestals were the highest priced. I loved Flower Michelle Florist and Designer Florals in Wetbury. They were both reasonably priced but I went with A Florid Affair. They were the most accomadating and best priced. I didn't want to spend more than 2K and I didn't. I have 15 tall centerpieces (all roses), my bouquet, 9 bridesmaid bouquets, cake decorated, petals everywhere and all boutineres as well as my dais piece. You can find thes florists under Flowers in the Services section of liweddings.com

Re: Please Help!! Any Florist Suggestions??

Dear Curly, Just be very careful because they are a new florist and I heard they dont have a showroom, My girlfriend used this lady who worked out of her house she had amazing pictures of flowers but did not have refrigeration and insurance. Her wedding was in November the flowers very nice but I would be very nervous using a company that has no store or showroom. Where do they actually make the flowers? If I was you I would question all these things for piece of mind. Good luck, Rose

Re: Please Help!! Any Florist Suggestions??

Dear Twist,
They are extremely well priced because of that. They do not have to pay for overhead so they pass the savings on to you. I was apprehensive at first but I made them make me samples of all my work and they did (They work out of a florists shop in Bethpage). I liked what I saw and was pleased. The designer/owner worked for the Scotto Bros. for 12 years before deciding to start his own business so I felt more comfortable with that ( I checked with Scotto Bros. and they did work with him) I saved alot of $$ for very nice flowers. I think anyone who wants to go all out on flowers but can't go all out on $$ should at least check them out. That's how a business gets started. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and I'm sure they will come through for me. I will let all you know how it went for future brides.
