I'm using a different log in name so that no one can personally judge my situation. (It's happened before) Although a lot of you will figure out who I am, I just thought it was better.
The reason I'm posting on this board along with the NWR board is because I am a new mom and I thought maybe some of you might be good support, also I am a regular poster on here.
My DH and I are now having serious money problems. All along we've been 'making it'. Not enough income to save $, but getting by. Well now, we are more than a few hundred dollars short every month, because we unexpectantly, (last minute) have to pay for day care now. We just cannot afford our bills. My DH is already working a second job, and we still don't make enough! I can't work a second job because we have no one to watch the baby. My parents haven't seen the baby since he was in the hospital, (huge fight in the Maternity Ward, that was bad enough that things can't be resolved), and DH parents don't live near us, and we don't have anyone else. Also, my DH hours at his second job can't be steady because it's retail. We just don't know what to do? We just don't make enough money? We're going to end up losing where we live, ruin our credit, our cars, etc. I can't believe this is happening. Everytime something good happens something worse has to happen. And it just keeps getting worse. On top of everything else, we now just found out about another debt that was unexpected that we have to pay or we'll get arrested, on top of that we still have to pay the hospital bill. There is just no way we can come up with that money on top of paying our monthly bills when we don't have any money saved, or we don't make enough! I just want to cry and cry!!! The life we've been working soooooo hard for is gone! Please girls... I need some support. I have no one else! (Besides my DH and my baby!)

Re: Please help girls!
The only other suggestion other than the great advise already given, is to consider a loan? You can colsolidate all of your bills/credit cards etc... and only pay a bank back- the interest loans at a bank right now are extremely low, and chances are, you won't have to make the first payment. This way, you'll only have the 1 payment, and hopefully, by the time you pay off the loan, you guys will have it all squared away. Just a suggestion- hope it all works out. Definitely try to work out things w/ your parents though, life is too short

First Are you in Suffolk?
The reason I ask is my Mom works for a section of Social Services that is a daycare unit. If you meet the income (and it sounds like you might) the county will pay for your day care, this way you can go to work. If you want more information or my Mom's work number to call, please FM me!

have you considered filing for bankruptcy? there is no shame in going that route. bankruptcy will help to clear away your debt. the only things bankruptcy can't help with are student loan payments and child support (not sure if either of those apply to you).
also - since daycare has now become an issue for you - really look at the costs that you incur by working outside the home. daycare costs more than just what you pay for the daycare. your working means you are probably incurring gas charges, commuting costs if you take the train, money for lunch, maybe work clothes. maybe if you weren't working you can do with an older car. look at the overall picture and make sure that working outside the home isn't costing you more. you would be surprised when you put it all together.
other things - with tax season around the corner - realize that any taxes owed can be paid on an installment plan - the government is very, very good with that.
cut out any 'non-essentials' - cable, internet, gym memberships - anything that you can think of.
my heart goes out to you - not being able to make ends meet is a horrible feeling.
