please help!! groom NJ, bride LI

Long story short, my ENTIRE family is from LI...my FH is from NJ. We are trying desperately to find a place (preferrably nassau county) that is on the water or on a beach.....we are both 'boat' people and this is super important to us. I'd love to have it at lombardis on the sound, but i think it is too far for his guests to travel. I am considering the surf club in new rochelle, but now that is putting my guests out of the way.........starting to freak out a little bit.....
ANY suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated :)

You should look at Chateau La Mer!! It's right on the water and the bride and groom are brought over on a boat, something you'd probably love!!!!!!

It's in Lindenhurst tho, I'm pretty sure that's Suffolk.

Chateau LeMer in Lindenhurst? I know a girl who got married there last summer, it's on the water, & I think they showed up to the RH at the beginning of the CH on the boat

that was the first place we went to....it's not going to work out there. the tasting was a nightmare....for many reasons. any other suggestions??? thanks :)

I am getting married at the Crescent Beach Club this fall.... it's so beautiful and they only do 1 wedding at a time.... If you can, you should definitely check it out.... It's in Nassau Cty... very north of Hicksville if that helps...

Also, I searched through past 'Bride's Reviews' of CBC weddings to see what the pics look like and that helped a lot to in making a decision.

Chatue le mar is a good option. I don't think the surf club in New rochelle would be to far for your LI guests.

Don't worry about the location to much. People who want to be at your wedding will travel to there.

My wedding is in NYC. My FI's family is from CT (3 hours from the city) and my family is from overseas. Everyone that is important to us is going to be there.

Definitley check out The Crescent. Also, Carltun on the Sound is up in that area as well and I believe it is waterfront. Is Marina Del Ray in the Bronx waterfront? What about Russo's on the Bay? Is that waterfront? Also Bridgeview Yacht Club is on the water in Island Park. I've heard really good things about their. There's also the Riviera in Massapequa. Harbor Club in Huntington is on the water too and it's just over the Nassau/Suffolk border.

Chateau La Mer couldn't be more perfectly fit to your description! That's where we're getting married! And FH is originally from NJ, me from LI (though we both now live in NJ). As you probably already heard, you get a boat ride into the cocktail hour!!! So exciting!!!

I went to a wedding at the Crescent Beach Club last August, & it really was beautiful. There was one awkward moment when the bride & groom were saying their vows.......a dog was taking a dump on the beach right in the middle of it! Everyone laughed, it was no big deal, but the place was amazing, the cocktail hour was great, & the food was wonderful! I would definately check it out

I'm not much help with the location, but I just wanted to say as much as you want to try to accommodate everyone, at the end of the day you have to go with the option that has the most 'pros'. You're always going to be putting someone out, so you can't think about it too much. FH is from CT, I'm from LI and we live in NJ. We first searched in NJ so it was neutral territory, then CT because I think LI is a hassle for anyone to travel to and a lot of guests are from New England, and ended up booking a hall on LI. No matter where we had it, at least 130 of our 200 guests will have to travel, so people were going to complain no matter what. We ended up booking the place we liked the most.

Brigdeview is on the water in Nassau...VERY close to the Queens border. You should definitely check it out.

CHATEAU la mer is nice but its kinda far for her, i live in queens and its not the closest place, but to come from jersey...I think thats why she wants to stay in nassau

Water's Edge in Long Island City... Jersey has some great halls though, don't rule it out! We went to a few weddings there over the years
