Please HELP - I'm NEW at this!

Hi, My name is Amy. I just got engaged 3 weeks ago and I'm already stressed... I have to admit I'm extremely organized (a bit ANAL ) and want to get everything done so when next June rolls around I won't be freaking.

I just don't know where to start in terms of finding a good florist, dress, bridesmaid dresses, photographer, videographer, DJ, bridal party gifts...ETC!

We're finalizing our site - hopefully Oheka Castle for June 13, 2003. As a lot of you already know the place is costing us a 'small fortune' so we're on a real tight budget for basically everything else. It was a hard choice - I really feel in love and didn't want to get married anywhere else. I hope it's the right decision.

I really appreciate any and all info for wedding planning on Long Island.

MUCH THANKS!

welcome to the boards! you should do a search on here and find other Oheka brides. Maybe it will help you to read about their vendors and experiences. These boards are really helpful and can be very informative.

Good luck!

My suggestions:

Florist- Burton's in Melville off Rt 110

DJ- Tommy Tunes (they do an awesome job)

Dress- Burton's Bridal same as above

Photographer- ADA studios or Photos of the Heart

Gifts- BM's- jewelery to match their dresses and for the GM's- money clips or cuff links.

Don't stress, you will get it done. Maybe look into attending a Bridal Expo, so you can get some ideas. You have time! Best of luck

PS Congrats

Hello and welcome

Don't worry about being anal.. we all are!!
I suggest you look for a dress.. get a feel what what you want to 'be' on that day. Pick a theme, then worry about BM (Bridesmaid) dresses

DJ - Music By Michael SOOOOOOOO worth the drive and very reasonable for the top notch work he does.

Dress: I did the magazine thing for ideas.. then went shopping

You've got time June 2004! Any questions..ask.. most ladies in here are helpful! Good luck!

Congratulations and Welcome!! It's always nice to hear of another happy bride......I, too, am a highly stressed bride as my FI works in retail and I know he won't be around during the holidays so I too want things done! I also have a not so great family situation which stresses me out and am on a REALLY tight budget....We are all here to help!!

GOOD LUCK!

For photo I would reccommend Creative Compositions. They are located in Oyster Bay and they do ALOT!! of Oheka weddings. For video, I would suggest Wild Rose Video Good luck and happy planning!!

Creative Compostions is excellent for photo. I would definitely turn to them. A little on the pricy side, but worth every penny. They have done many oheka weddings. If you go on their website, you will see oheka pics.

Don't panic....i had success at Fairy Tale Affiars in Massapequa. For invitations, favors, gifts and a pretty much everything else. They seem to 'de-stress'. This is supposed to be fun, remember

Don't worry you have plenty of time
What I did was book the hall and chruch first. Than I bought soooooo many bridal mags! I would suggest maybe a wedding planning book I got mine at Borders but plenty of places carry them. Its very helpful for figuring out the budget and such.

Congrats and don't worry all the girls on here will help you a lot.
