I was all set to start seeing DJs when FMIL calls and says she wants a band not a DJ. She feels since we're having our reception at Flowefield that a band is more appropriate. As far as i know bands are super expensive compared to DJs.
So, do you really think it makes a difference? Which do you think is better? I just want everyone to have a good time!!!!!
So now I have a new problem. As I said, inlaws want a band and so they looked into it for me which i didn't mind since i wasn't set on one or the other, price was more of a determing factor. Anyway, inlaws are good friends with a member of the 15 piece band called Right On, which supposedly travels around the country and even played at the last inaugaration for Pres Bush. They are willing to play for us for about $2000 as a favor to them. The only problem is that they are not available on my date. So I would have to push back my date by one week. I only have hall and church booked so far. My biggest problem is that one of my BMs might not be able to make it the following weekend. What do i do??????? Do I choose the amazing band and give up BM or stick with cheaper DJ, original date and keep my BM??????? Please help.!!!!!!! Sorry so long.

Seriously! She needs to remember its YOUR day and any decisions like that need to be made by your and your FH only. And yes, I've heard of bands being serveral thousands more then a good quality DJ. Good luck!

ABSOLUTLY NOT! Are you willing to rearrange all your plans AND your wedding date for just 1 vendor??? Don't do it! You can get a DJ for the same price. I prefer a DJ b/c I like knowing that the songs I love will be played exactly from the original singer....that's just me though. Bands obviously don't sound identical to the original artist, and often times change the sound or beat to fit their voices and talents. Just keep that in mind when you're deciding between the two.
