PLEASE help me...Did NOT love my hair and makeup trial!!!

I went yesterday for my hair and makeup trial...the hair came out ok (I'm getting pics developed)...it was not exactly what I wanted, but it was close. The makeup part...I wasn't really happy about at all. I expected to walk out of there like WOW...and I didn't.

I know this is a topic that has about 1000 posts, but I would appreciate it if you could tell me who you are using...whether they do both hair and makeup...and if you could provide their telephone number or email or both. Posting pics would also be helpful.

I'M GETTING DESPERATE AND I'M REALLY GOING TO START STRESSING...THERE'S LESS THAN 3 MONTHS TO MY WEDDING!!!!

Try not to stress out. It's frustrating but sometimes it takes a couple of trials to get it right. Did you tell whoever did it that you weren't happy. Did you explain exactly what you wanted? Maybe she/he could correct what you weren't happy with.

Who did you go to?

For hair after ALOT of stress I ended up going to my regular salon. (who knows my hair better then her)

For make-up I went to the second floor Lancome counter @ Roosevelt Field. (My good friend used her for her wedding) Her name is Josephine. She was fantastic.

I did tell them exactly what I wanted and showed them pics...the hair was pretty close to what I wanted and I did tell her after she was done what I'd like done differently.

I just didn't like that by the time I got home, my curls had started to straighten...they were sort of loose to begin with, which is what I liked, but not that within 1 hour they would straighten so much.

The makeup just felt kind of heavy and when I wiped it off later that night...there was so much of it...and I had told her that I did NOT want a lot of makeup on my face...

Since I have to be ready by 9 am, and have 8-9 girls needing hair and makeup we've got to start by 6...the salon needs to have 2 girls come in to do hair and 2 girls for makeup...they charge $100 per person to come in that early... ...that is a lot of money and since I'm not 100% happy with it, is just not worth it. If I had loved my hair and makeup, money wouldn't be so much an issue.

I had my stylist who has also become my friend do my hair....but I did my own makeup. I just didn't fine anyone who did it without making me feel like a clown. I used MAC makeup.

Go to my hair person in Bellmore. Her name is Vivan and she works at Anthony Cole and she is AMAZING! It's worth a try! For make-up I am using another woman name Maureen Pedale in NYC. FM me if you want her info!

I went through about 8 make-up trials and 3 hair trials before I found something I love- and my wedding is in less than 2 months so don't worry- it will get done! Go see Vivian and Maureen!!!!

I went to Jacqueline Nicole for my trial, she was amazing..she can do natural or galmorous, air brush, non air brush, whatever you want. She doesnt do hair though. I was going to have Linda at Millenia do my hair, she did my trial and did a great job.

I am using a lady in Sayville she works in New Concepts Hair Salon for both hair and Makeup. She charges 75 for an updo and 75 for makeup. She will come to your house or do it in the salon. I chose to do it in the salon since I live in Sayville. FM me if you want her number.

I used Jacqueline Nicole for my make-up . I had the air brush done and it was so light you did not even feel it on. I am not big on make-up and I was very comfortable with the amount she used and it looked amazing.

For hair I used Jen fro Salon Jalesse in Hauppague. She will travel to you. I told her what I wanted, and she did it perfect for both the trial and the wedding day. My hair did not move all day. I mean they have to use a lot of crap to get it that way, but it did not move at all and lasted the whole day. (I swear it was still in place when I woke up the next morning).

Try Jackie from I Make Up You, (516) 901-2359, she's a vendor on this board. I am also on her website's homepage & last pictures on Page 4 of the before/after section so you can see what I looked like on my day if you like.

I had Giovanna from Giovanna's Salon do my hair. She also did some of my BM's and my mom, and did a wonderful job. My hair stayed in all day, and only came down when I took it down. Her number is (516) 799-4252.

I would think you'd need a few more hairdresser's then just two. It took about 5 1/2 hours to do just 4 peoples hair at my sis's wedding. I just want to make sure everyone gets one correctly in that short amount of time.

Can you imagine if I needed to get a 5th girl to the salon??? That's $500...no way am I paying that kind of money.

I know lots of people who've had as many girls as I do and 2 people should be enough...I hope.

I used Denise Venti for hair and Wendy Urban for make-up. Both of them did an excellent job AND they come to your house.

i love love love who is doing my hair and make-up. Tania from Swank in the city is doing my hair and Bouchelle - a gem at makeup is helping me with that. Check out their rave reviews on the weddingchannel. LOVE EM!

Don't despair! I went to six makeup trials with different people, two with the one I chose and 3 hair trials!!!!
