PLEASE help me - how much were your BM bo-oks?

I've been having a bad experience at J & R.

Long story - they talked us into adding church flowers after the contract was drawn, and when I went to see my sample yesterday I saw they upped my bill $680 for 2 church baskets and 10 pew bows. I called after I left and said I'd like to cancel the church stuff - it's just not in our budget - and they YELLED at me. I'm not kidding, I was horrified. I actually cried when I hung up the phone.

We just added it at the design session 4 weeks ago and they didn't say how much it would be, and they didn't have room in their schedule to see me until now. This was the 1st time I saw the bill. Had they said it would cost that much I would have never been talked into it in the first place.

When I called they put me on hold and when they came back the lady (Patty?) was going 'it's 2 1/2 week until you're wedding - I don't know what you want me to do?!' and I could heard Jack the owner in the background yelling 'NO! It's ALREADY BEEN ORDERED!'

They said they would make the church baskets smaller and take away the flowers at the end of the pews (which we didn't even order - they just put on there)

With these changes the additional charge will be $400

And NOW I have to call and say I need another BM Bo-OK? They're going to try to charge me $600 I'm sure - they hate me.

I can only imagine what my flowers are going to look like.

That is completely unprofessional!! You are their client/customer and the fact that you even have to WORRY about calling them AT ALL is absurd.

Are you able to figure out an approximation of how much they charged you for the other bok's based on your total? If you can...call them with that number in mind and ask for a quote over the phone (and write down who you spoke to)

$680 for church flowers is crazy expensive. I am getting more flowers that that for my church and it is $300. However, don't start getting stressed about this now. You should be enjoying this time before your wedding and not letting thier shady practices throw you off balance. Make sure you write everything down and maybe you can have FH or someone closely related to the wedding deal with them. I would ask them to throw in another bok.

update: I called the florist. Apologized for 'my actions' and for getting upset about the price increase. Then I told them I needed another bouquet.

She said it should be $125 but she'd give it to me for $95.

At this point I'm trying not to ruffle any feathers but needless to say, I don't need people giving me a hard time. I'm not happy, but hopefully the flowers will be beautiful and this would have been worth it.

my florist is charging me 35 dollsrs or 45 dollars i think

i am so sorry!! that must have been hard to do, but i agree, more arguing may have caused more stress that you don't need, and i am sure the flowers will be gorgeous!
