It's a ridiculous situation but to avoid drama, i would make it the week before. It shouldn't matter that your friend also got married that day. I just find it really bizzare that the FMIL can only make the wedding of her own daughter one day out of the entire year.

I guess I would go with the week before that way your wedding will be first and you cann send out your invited first. So sorry this happened if it were me I'd say sorry thats our date and thats the end of that but I can be a little brudezillaish hahah

OOO one more response: one of my bm got married 9/26 this year and it POURED (i was in the wedding), then my best friend got married sunday 10/12 and it was sunny and 72 degrees. We actually got a tiny bit of sunburn taking the pictures! The other great thing, if you move it ahead two weeks and do it on the sunday, the next day is columbus day so most people have off so you will be getting a sunday night price on a day thats basically a saturday. Just a suggestion.

I'm so sorry to hear that. That is really not a nice thing to do to someone. And it doesn't seem they are willing to compromise huh?
I really wouldnt worry about having the same day as your friend (a yr later). We have that same situation. They got married this yr on our date. The other thing you'll need to look into is: Is the hall you want available all those dates you have to choice from? That may limit your decision.

Why wouldnt she go to your wedding...if i had one on my one year anniversary i would love to go and relive for my best friend what i had just one year ago. Did u ask your best friend?

I would definitely do columbus day weekend! It was so gorgeous this year bc the leaves were changing.

Have you looked to see if any of the RH's you're looking at are available on either of those dates? A lot of places could be booked already.

But that's a week after their wedding.
Regardless of your cousin's wedding, those who want to be there for yours will be there. Their wedding, even though your family, should have no interference with yours.

why can't they change their wedding to 2010. why should you be inconvienced? maybe her fmil will have more availablity in 2010. i would tell them that we put money down and can't change it because there is no availability.
