Please Help Me....I have decided not to BF my daughter and my milk has come in.....
How do I stop it? What is the process? Appx. how long will it take? I know everyone is different just wanted to get some ideas on what happend to moms that did not feed. I did feed the first few days (the colostrum) and I have chosen for personal reasons not to do so. But they are starting to fill up and be heavy and hurt.
What do I do? Let them leak into to pads and how to relive the pressure...cold compress?
Please someone help a new mommie out
TIA!!!!

First bind yourself REALLLLLY tight. Use the breat pads to soak up the milk, use ice packs. When you take a shower make the water lukewarm (hot water makes the milk run). It took me about a week to have my milk dry up. Although every now and again I get little drops. Good luck

not to be a pain in the butt....but did you try it?? I mean, since the milk is there anyway....even a few days worth of milk would be really good for the baby (but she will be just fine without it too...I am not trying to make you feel bad!). Is it just the actual nursing that isn't working out? If that's the case you could try pumping, that would relieve your pressure immediately and you could feed the baby the milk in a bottle. If you don't have a pump and need help finding one, FM me....good luck (sorry I didn't really answer the question you asked).

She gave some good advice. I leaked on and off for about 4 weeks or so. The soreness/heaviness went away in a week a week and a half. I wore sports bras - all day long (hospital recommended you wear your bra to bed). And limit any kind of stimulation - esp the hot water in the shower.

WEAR a tight sports bra, even if you have to sleep in it , take advil for the pain, 2-3 of them at a time and use ice packs inside your bra a few times a day

Whenever a girl puts a after deciding not to bfing I always question if they made the decision or someone else gave them a guilt trip or made them stop. If you need any support please let us know!!

I really don't have anymore to say, but be proud of your decision. I'm pretty sure you tried your best just like I did, but it wasn't for us and my little girl is a beautiful and healthy seven month old girl.

My girlfriend decided not to breast feed and she had a lot of pain while drying up (only a week though). She had a very tight bra and had issues moving around but now she is fine.
She felt very guilty about this as did my cousin who had a baby because when she told the lactating nurse in the hospital they kind of looked down on them (both of them told me the same story afterwards). It's a personal decision, I don't think its really anyone's decision but the mom.
I personally am not going to BF. Just my choice. I don't know if the tide is turning as of late but I know the 6-7 past people who had babies the last 4-5 months and I know did not breastfeed on their own choice. And one of my friends only did it for three weeks because she said it was too painful for her.
i hope you don't have too much pain with it and it hopefully will pass quickly!

thank you all for your support the guilt is HORRENDOUS seriously....but it just is not for me and my daughter. I know I could get help and continue to try but I weighed the pros and cons of it all and how long it would last and its just not gonna work. i am sad about it but i know my daughter is eating and eating well. she took to the formula very quick. but when she turns her head at my chest i want to cry so bad it hurts...that being said i just wanted to say thanks for the advice, suggestions and support.
I am going to use the sports bra idea, one i used to wear to the gym prior to being pregnant so its DAMN tight! lol!!! and i put ice packs in them and take motrin! one day at a time!
soon to come pics of my lil angel!
tanks soooooooooooo much!!!
