Please Help Settle a Debate

I agree you should have some sort of food. Especially because of the timing of the rehearsal.
Try to find a place that has those pasta nights for like $10.95 p/p or what about a Chinese buffet? It might not be you first pick but it is better than nothing. If you want a GREAT place in massapequa I can recommend a place. I know it might be a little far but the owner has always worked out super deals for us. FM me if you want the info. You tell him the price you are looking to spend and he will work with you. And they don't have a liquor license so they only serve beer and wine which helps with keeping the bill down.

i'm probably just gonna do my rd dinner at my parent's house - make all the food in advance and freeze it so all we have to do that day is stick it in the oven. it's the cheaper option and probably less stressful in the end.

if you don't want to do that, maybe have it at somewhere less expensive or have it at your place and pick up the food somewhere else.

I agree, you should have some sort of dinner for RD. Definately, look at lesser expensive options perhaps in someone's backyard.

Iffy's idea is great to have your brother cook. I know you were really upset at him, so I'm not sure how things are between you at this point, but that may be a great option.

Ladies - thank you so much for your feedback and suggestions. One of my BMs is talking to her parents about using their house to host the dinner part of it, and I found a place that I can order trays of italian food for a low cost!! If that doesn't work out, I'll try some of your other suggestions!

You guys are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i attended a RD once ina restaurant and while they did have a selected menu. [everyone got to pick from 3 main courses], if people ordered drinks, they were informed by the staff that they'd be responsible for them. it kept people from drinking too much and no one was insulted.
