PLEASE HELP WITH ENGAGEMENT GIFT IDEA!

CAN ANY OF YOU NEWLY ENGAGED BRIDES GIVE ME AN IDEA OF A GIFT YOU WOULD LOVE(ASIDE FROM $$!) TO GET OR MAYBE YOU RECEIVED ALREADY FOR AN ENGAGEMENT GIFT? MY SISTER'S ENGAGEMENT PARTY IS COMING AND i COULD USE SOME IDEAS! THANKS IN ADVANCE!

If they already registered...something from the registry? If you don't want to give money...what about a gift card to Fortunoff's or Bed Bath and Beyond....this way, they could buy something they both want?

Someone once suggested a gift basket with things like Bridal magazines, a wedding planner notebook/binder, jewelry cleaner, nail polish, and some destressing stuff like bath oils/salts and aromatherapy candles ... I thought that was a really cute idea.

The best gift I've gotten though since being engaged was from FH. It was for Christmas but I think it would make an excellent engagement gift especially for your sister if she is into techie stuff and doesn't have one. He got me a PocketPC and it's great because I can keep all my appointments, notes, wedding related contacts, even pics of stuff I like and my budget in there!!

JimmysBride....I totally agree w/ you on EVERYTHING you said. I got a pocket PC for Xmas too and I love it. All my appts go in there...its the greatest! I really like that idea of a bridal basket w/ mags and stuff...I would love to get something like that!

A great thing I got was a gift card to Home Depot and also the Corning French White - that is something that lasts - you can use it over and over again...
I did get lots of stuff from my registry which was great too!
It's hard to say b/c it depends on the person's taste - what's her style??

I think the best gift we got from our engagement party were 2 white soft bathrobes w/ our first names embroidered on the front (so we dont' mix them up

They were in a natural wicker laundry basket and it was the most unique gift. I think they're from Land's End. It was great b/c it was something that we never would've bought ourselves!!!

I dont know if this is within your budget.... but what about paying for their honeymoon night hotel for after the wedding? Or a massage for two.... for when they are stressed out from wedding planning! Or gift certificate for dinner!

you can always make a Gift basket with thing that both of the like like if she like candle get her floating, secented, candles and if he like golf get he golf ball with his name on it . When i t homeade people love it more because you took time to make it .

I got a Waterford heart shaped ring holder and I love it, it is somewhere special for me to leave my special ring!!!

FH's cousin works in the invitations/favors field. She made us a ceramic letter holder. It looks like an envelope on one side, and a little house with a mailbox on the other. It has the last name on the 'mailbox'. She included little note pads with our married name on it!! It was soooo sweet. My favorite of all the gifts we have gotten.
