any hair salons in whitestone, douglaston, littleneck, or close by that doesnt charge over 30 dollars for a bridal updp. Honestly, I went to over 4 and nothing looks good. I have pictures in my hand, but they cant get it right. PLeaseeee anyone that knows of any salon that does a great job for less. I dont mind spending 100 on day of wedding but these trials are costing me... thanks guys

I was wondering the same thing, I'm looking in bayside or whitestone, I was considering Christie's in bay terrace, but I don't know how much they charge for trials....
Firegal, who are you going to for hair/makeup??

I called Christies in Bay Terrace and if I remember correctly they wanted about 75 bucks for a trial. I might be off a tad, I just know they were way to expensive for me plus the girl I spoke to was a snot.

do not go to christies. they are expensive, they said anywhere from 75-100 for a trial. depending on what you are having done. not only that, they were so RUDE. big time!. I finally found somewhere not too far off. It is called I believe, beauty unlimited, I think. I really forgot the name. It is across the cross island parkway in bay terrace. there is a 2 floor mini shopping area. The owner Toni(a gal) happened to be the style cordinator for christies for 17 years, she just opened up this place about 6 years ago. I went there today for a trial, I will put up pictures, and girls, she did a fantastic job. I showed her the picture, she did it exactly. She is so sweet, and so real, you have the say as to what you want. She charged 45, and for the day, it is 65-70. She is worth it. After going through so many places, She is the best!

I went to Christies for a trial - they charged me $75 and when I said this is not what I had in mind I was told that it would different on the wedding day! THEN WHAT'S THE POINT OF THE TRIAL??????????
I cannot begin to tell you all the horror stories I have from there about the service there. Thankfully my mother finally stopped going there - I thought they started throwing things at her since they seemed to go out of their way to be rude and unprofessional with her.
I have no suggestions though. Maybe a post on the vendor board will get you some suggestions. Good luck!
