I am in the process of looking for BM dresses. I was thinking of a 2 piece dress so the girls can pick different tops. I only have 4 BM, but they are all different shapes and sizes. I want them to be comfortable with the dress. Can everyone post their BM dresses? Or a designer, style # and color. Thanks!

When I was looking last year, David`s bridal had some separates that looked nice. I think there were 5 different tops and 2 different skirts to choose from and they came out to $135. Also I think Bill Levkoff had a nice line too. They are becoming increasingly popular so there must be many more out there now. My knowledge is becoming outdated since I shopped a year ago :o)

We ended up going with a one piece but we were originally looking for two pieces. Two pieces are great but just a stupid though-when my MOH and I were looking, the top was like $100 and the skirt was $60. We were blown away, we said we would never pay that much for a shirt, but stupid us, after we thought about it the total was $180 and thats the same as a regular dress!! Sounds silly but we didnt realize this until later that day. We found a great one piece dress that looks as great on a 6 foot, 115 lb lady as a 5'4' 180 lb lady!! So keep options open for one pieces.

I havent really started to search yet(except for magazines), but I've seen alot of nice ones from watters and watters-WToo collection, and also their V collection...lazaro also has really nice styles-different- but probably a little on the $$$$$ side...I also have a bridal party with very different shapes and sizes, but I told them if we went with the two piece, they could have all different tops, with the same a-line skirt( a-line looks good on everyone)...

I was also looking for two pieces when I first set out. Watters and Watters has a lot. But came to find out that they really didn't fit as well as I thought they would everyone. The tops didn't lay very nicely. So I started looking at one pieces that look sort of like two pieces. Here's a link to what I ordered for my girls. The pic is in black but I'm getting bordeaux. The top is crepe and the skirt is satin with satin covered buttons in back and square back. It's very flattering. It's a Jim Hjelm dress and I got them for $160. http://www.jimhjelmoccasions.com/bridesmaid/8115.html If you can't get to from that link, go to jimhjelmoccasions.com and got to bridesmaid collection and on the bottom of the collection is #JH8115. You can even look at the swatch of colors.

My BMs are wearing Jim Hjelm 2 pieces. I have one BM that is pregnant and delivering about 2 months before my wedding and all of the others are various sizes. Jim Hjelm had a good collection of 2 pieces that looked good on everyone and I am letting them choose different tops.

My MOH (sister) is wearing Victorian Mauve. The rest of the girls are wearing amethyst. What kind of flowers are you having?

Lazaro

from my experience these dresses are very $$$. i am in 3 weddings this summer. 1 dress is from simple silouettes for $200 and 1 from champagne formals for $200 and the lazaro 2 piece is $230 for the skirt and $125 for the top which totals to $355 w/o alterations. add another $65 for alterations (max) and that`s a whopping $420. with shoes hair and makeup it`s going to be about $600. there are so many dresses to choose from so don`t get locked into 1 designer, especially not a real pricey one. this might sound rude because it is the brides and groom day, but definitly think of the wedding party when deciding on a dresses and what they can afford to pay.

Here's mine. It's a Mori Lee. It is very inexpensive, and my girls all say it's very comfortable and flattering. My MOH and BM's are all wearing ice blue. http://www.morileeinc.com/catalog/c49a.html

Very pretty. The dress the girls are wearing is not on the Mary's website and the Knot website doesn't seem to post well. If I find another link, I'll post it.

Nice price too! And I love the shawl look. Gives it a different look if they use it.
