I'm sorry to hear about your dad. What he needs to regain all if not some of his speech is to see a Speech-Language Pathologist at the hospital or rehab (wherever he is now) immediately. OT/PT aren't going to help with his speech!!! If the doctors haven't requested one to see him yet, you must go demand it...

Also, if he's having trouble eating the Speech Pathologist works on that as well.

He is doing much better..just want him to be healthy for the wedding

Thankfully you have time on your side for him to recover more before the wedding.
Its looking more and more than my grandmother (mother's mother) and my grandfather (father's father), might not be alive for mine. Both are very ill (grandma has dementia and they just found a tumor on her kidney and grandpa has very very late stage COPD).....so i'm trying to come to terms with them not being there.

Erin, I am glad to hear about your father! Make sure he keeps up on his visits and therapies-- boys are stubborn and tend to quit that stuff bc they feel better

Angela, I'm sorry to hear that. My grandmother is 98 with dementia as well. It's so hard on everyone. She wont be at my wedding because even if she is alive, she hasnt been physically well to move about for a few years I think it has been harder on my mother to go through this though. We can always incorporate lost loved ones in ceremony though, so maybe we will do that!

My mom is taking it pretty well...then again, her grandmother raised her more. Still sucks to see a family member in that type of condition.
