Google has implemented a new feature which enables you to type a
telephone number into the search bar and hit enter and you will be
given the person's name and address. If you then hit MapQuest, you
will get a map to the person's house. Everyone should be aware of
this!

It's a nationwide reverse telephone book.

If a child gives out his/her phone number, someone can now look it up
to find out where he/she lives. The safety issues are obvious, and
alarming.

Note that you can have your phone number removed or blocked. I tried
my number and it came up along with the Mapquest and directions
straight to our house. I did fill out the removal form for myself, and
encourage all of you to do the same. Quite scary.

Please look up your own number.

In order to test whether your phone number is mapped, go to: Google
(http://www.google.com/ ) Type your phone number in the search bar
(i.e. 555-555-1212) and hit enter. If you want to B L O C K Google
from divulging your private information, simply click on your telephone
number and then click on the Removal Form. Removal takes 48-hours.

we are listed in the PB we have verizon....or # didnt come up in the google thing............but FH has veizon too and they are listed and they came up............i dont know.

thats wierd!! hmmm

i wonder if the do not call list has anything to do with that.. im on that...

but im just pulling stuff out my @ss now

I feel bad, but this is what I do all day! Not for private numbers—but for government and local attractions and such. I work for a phone book, but we don’t do the tristate area. Anywho.com also has a reverse look up service.

nothing for my number. FH's comes up though.

we have had an unlisted number for a realy long time.. so maybe thats why.

also.. if you go to anywho.com and go to 'reverse lookup' and type in a phone number you get the listing for the number.

Its like a phone book but instead of looking by name, you look by number.
ive actually used it when i was getting weird calls on my cell phone.

sorry to crash - those ladies who put their #s in and it didn't come up, do you have regular phone service, DSL, or cable? i wonder if that makes a difference becaue i put my # in and it didn't come up.

cable doesnt come up.

Mine didn't come up either.

mine came up... I requested removal. I think they should need your permission to even post it to begin with

i just checked fil's phone number and it shows up...and its blocked.

but interestingly i found a false post with fh's phone number! he is verrrrry pissed.
