PLEASE READ!!!! Horrific wedding day limo experience
Original post by lindsay marie
I know it's long but please read so it doesn't happen to you!!! I am furious, disgusted, and unimaginably disappointed, for messing up the biggest day of my life, and they are a recommended vendor on this site. My wedding day was only 2 weeks ago (3/19/10) and I hope to save another future bride the heartache I had to deal with on my wedding day. This company was paid in full (my biggest mistake ever-DON'T EVER DO THIS) just weeks before my wedding when I booked a party bus for our coed bachelor party, and it was the most horrendous preview of what my wedding would be like. The wrong bus showed up, it was FILTHY- I mean so FILTHY, sticky, and disgusting that my mom was cleaning it in her PJ's before we (the bride and groom) showed up to the mess. All 20 of my guests were on the bus watching this- how humiliating!!!!! the driver was unfriendly and unprofessional and told my sister there was no manager to call, no one in the office to complain to at the time (sat night 9pm). We felt left with no choice but to take the bus as we had reservations in NYC an hour later. We soon found out on our hour long ride that the bathroom light was broken as was the toilet, and we had no ice, so we had to stop at a gas station for both. This among soooooo many other inappropriate things. I spent days on the phone with their general manager who did nothing but defend them and make excuses for all their errors including blaming us for bringing 'dirt' in on our feet. It was the most unprofessional pathetic experience I had as a bride. Needless to say they did not own up to their mistakes, refused to give ANY money back and forced me to move forward with my wedding package. I'm sure you future brides can understand the panic I was in, losing sleep over my wedding limos being a disaster!!! Well, the manager reviewed all contracts, promised he was overseeing event so it would be flawless, and 'threw in' a few minor things to attempt to make up for our horrendous experience with them already. Let me tell you the wedding day was TEN TIMES the disaster of the first!!!! Although I drove 45 min the afternoon before my wedding to make sure the wedding horn in my Rolls worked for my arrival to church with my dad, it was all a waste of time because my Rolls Royce sat stalled in front of my house. The driver, who was hired from another company, who was sent from their lot close to empty ran out of gas. He used my lighting asst to take him to get gas, but never got the car started. (We found out later it was because he never put the car in park when it stalled-WOW) So, now I'm running late to my own wedding mass, cannot take my Rolls after all, and had to walk down the block to climb into the SUV limo with bridal party. The other driver ASSUMED that b/c the Rolls was blocking my driveway that instead of pulling up by the decorated walkway along the house (or ask where to park), that he should park on the next corner and direct my people to walk across neighbor's lawn and get in-doesn't the bride leave from her house not the neighbors????? From there it got worse, if you can believe that's even possible. The driver was unfriendly and didn't help anyone out of SUV that my great aunt fell on the floor trying to get out. MY photographer even shot a photo of the BRIDE jumping from the step, and I look piiiiiissssst!!!! The story can just go on and on, you can't even make this up if you wanted to. When I came out of mass, I found my Rolls in front of church because the driver realized he had to put the car in park before starting it.... they had our royalty package setup there (the champagne and red carpet that they 'threw In' for previous disaster). So we get ready for our close up toast photo when I realize they gave us two completely different glasses (his said groom, mine was plain, his was a bubble mine was a flute). When I asked if he was kidding with the mismatched glasses, the driver said 'well the bride glass is broken'. I asked to see it and the base was sliced in half, so I held it in my hand to hide the slice missing because the pictures would've looked ridiculous and classless the way they gave them to me. My photographer was freaking out that I would slice my hand and get blood all over my dress!!!! AND there is so much more but I can only highlight the major things to give you an idea of how bad my experience was!!! I waited 10 yrs to marry my high school sweetheart and best friend, and these people managed to ruin the two most important events of my life- they were only a small piece of the whole wedding pie and were not competent enough to just do their job! After one disaster with a bride and groom you would think they would make sure our wedding day was PERFECT!!!!! I know it sounds hard to believe but I will soon have pictures together of this pathetic thing called wedding day limo service, and I will be glad to post them. (pictures of limo driver with red gas can filling tank in front of house, pics of my photo asst under hood of car, SUV parked a block away, AND BEST furious bride jumping from SUV-you'll probably have a good laugh. I can't even understand how they have any decent testimonials because I have since heard several similar horror stories about them.

There is a post further down the page which explains why they edit/pull posts. They are doing this for our own protection- you should read it!

LIW must have edited it out bc it was there at the bottom.
It was a two-letter company name.

thanks, i just read LIW's posts and I understand where they're coming from. on the other hand, there are plenty of sites where people can post the good, the bad and the ugly- and it's the poster's responsibility. while i understand LIW's concern about someone getting sued by a vendor, i also like to hear everyone's opinions- even if they are bad. i guess we can all continue to search the BBB for this info.
i'm not going to complain, because there are so many great things about this site that if that's the only bad thing, i think i can deal

how does everyone know what company this is?She never mentions it?
Also why does she only have 3 posts? Weird!
Although she only has three posts, I definitely believe her. It's under the 'you can't make this shyt up!' category.
To the OP...I'm sorry that this happened. How sad.
I agree, I want to believe it, but it's just weird that she will join LIWeddings just to give a negative post...
She has been a member since 1/09. Just because she has no posts doesn't mean she hasn't been on LIW that whole time, planning her wedding!
I completely agree. There are a lot of lurkers who do not post and they are still brides who are planning their wedding! I completely believe the OP.
that's true, I didn't notice that.... I can't understand how someone could be a member and not post!!!!! It is the addiction after all!
I wasn't trying to discredit her, I just thought it was weird, that's all!
I also don't post a lot and I am planning a wedding, I am just as involved in my wedding planning as everyone else. I honestly don't have the time to post or reply to every post. IMO calling a person a lurker because they don't post a lot is not fair. The boards are here for everyone whether they choose to respond or post or not. Please dont anyone take this the wrong way, its just coming from someone who isn't a big poster or responder. I am thankful for her post it just brings an awareness.
lurkers isnt meant as an insult...
Exactly, a lurker is someone who utilizes a message board but who doesn't participate in posting very often. It is not a negative thing at all. I lurk on some other message boards and only post rarely, but here I post all the time.

It was a two-letter company name.
are they located in smithtown? their logo has a man in a top hat? and the first letter of their name is 'emm'?
(i figured it out while reading the OP... i HATE this company, i wish liweddings would remove them as a vendor... they are truly HORRIBLE!)

Re: PLEASE READ!!!! Horrific wedding day limo experience
it would be a darn shame if this thread dissapeared b/c of this bad review.
I'm so sorry you had to go through this and hopefully, maybe, one day, many years from now, this might be something you can laugh at - like jumpin off the SUV

Re: PLEASE READ!!!! Horrific wedding day limo experience
yes they were paid in full when they messed up the first event so I couldn't back out of wedding contract-trust me I wanted to in the worst way. My sister & MOH is dealing with company for now because she doesn't want me to be dealing with it just weeks after my wedding. The owner has been much like his manager blaming us for not telling the limo where to park and he doesn't see the broken mismatched glasses 'as a big deal'. What is yelp because I want ever opportunity to put a review or compliant in???

Re: PLEASE READ!!!! Horrific wedding day limo experience
Yeah it was a shame especially because we went out of our way so many times to try to avoid things happening with the limos and it was like worse than I could've expected.

Re: PLEASE READ!!!! Horrific wedding day limo experience
Oh I am!!! They have not heard the end of me and my photos are awesome....we learned from the first even to make sure we got proof of everything knowing they would pull this. You would think two huge mess ups and a company that makes that much money would just do the right thing???? We'll see what the judge thinks!!!

Re: PLEASE READ!!!! Horrific wedding day limo experience
I had the name at the end of original post but LI wedd e-mailed me and said they had to edit it out because of the 'illegal' wording around the name of company. They said I was allowed to put the vendor name in if I just state the name.
I e-mailed them back and said I definitely will be adding their name back because it's not right that they are a vendor on this site and this could happen to other brides-they should not be protected by only good reviews. Others know the name because they e-mailed me to find out. I'm not sure what the 'only 3 posts' and 'edit....blah blah' means but trust me I would not be wasting my time making this up when I could be spending time with my husband. Hopefully you will see this on the news or face book and see how true it is.
