PLEASE READ!!!! Horrific wedding day limo experience

Original post by lindsay marie

I know it's long but please read so it doesn't happen to you!!! I am furious, disgusted, and unimaginably disappointed, for messing up the biggest day of my life, and they are a recommended vendor on this site. My wedding day was only 2 weeks ago (3/19/10) and I hope to save another future bride the heartache I had to deal with on my wedding day. This company was paid in full (my biggest mistake ever-DON'T EVER DO THIS) just weeks before my wedding when I booked a party bus for our coed bachelor party, and it was the most horrendous preview of what my wedding would be like. The wrong bus showed up, it was FILTHY- I mean so FILTHY, sticky, and disgusting that my mom was cleaning it in her PJ's before we (the bride and groom) showed up to the mess. All 20 of my guests were on the bus watching this- how humiliating!!!!! the driver was unfriendly and unprofessional and told my sister there was no manager to call, no one in the office to complain to at the time (sat night 9pm). We felt left with no choice but to take the bus as we had reservations in NYC an hour later. We soon found out on our hour long ride that the bathroom light was broken as was the toilet, and we had no ice, so we had to stop at a gas station for both. This among soooooo many other inappropriate things. I spent days on the phone with their general manager who did nothing but defend them and make excuses for all their errors including blaming us for bringing 'dirt' in on our feet. It was the most unprofessional pathetic experience I had as a bride. Needless to say they did not own up to their mistakes, refused to give ANY money back and forced me to move forward with my wedding package. I'm sure you future brides can understand the panic I was in, losing sleep over my wedding limos being a disaster!!! Well, the manager reviewed all contracts, promised he was overseeing event so it would be flawless, and 'threw in' a few minor things to attempt to make up for our horrendous experience with them already. Let me tell you the wedding day was TEN TIMES the disaster of the first!!!! Although I drove 45 min the afternoon before my wedding to make sure the wedding horn in my Rolls worked for my arrival to church with my dad, it was all a waste of time because my Rolls Royce sat stalled in front of my house. The driver, who was hired from another company, who was sent from their lot close to empty ran out of gas. He used my lighting asst to take him to get gas, but never got the car started. (We found out later it was because he never put the car in park when it stalled-WOW) So, now I'm running late to my own wedding mass, cannot take my Rolls after all, and had to walk down the block to climb into the SUV limo with bridal party. The other driver ASSUMED that b/c the Rolls was blocking my driveway that instead of pulling up by the decorated walkway along the house (or ask where to park), that he should park on the next corner and direct my people to walk across neighbor's lawn and get in-doesn't the bride leave from her house not the neighbors????? From there it got worse, if you can believe that's even possible. The driver was unfriendly and didn't help anyone out of SUV that my great aunt fell on the floor trying to get out. MY photographer even shot a photo of the BRIDE jumping from the step, and I look piiiiiissssst!!!! The story can just go on and on, you can't even make this up if you wanted to. When I came out of mass, I found my Rolls in front of church because the driver realized he had to put the car in park before starting it.... they had our royalty package setup there (the champagne and red carpet that they 'threw In' for previous disaster). So we get ready for our close up toast photo when I realize they gave us two completely different glasses (his said groom, mine was plain, his was a bubble mine was a flute). When I asked if he was kidding with the mismatched glasses, the driver said 'well the bride glass is broken'. I asked to see it and the base was sliced in half, so I held it in my hand to hide the slice missing because the pictures would've looked ridiculous and classless the way they gave them to me. My photographer was freaking out that I would slice my hand and get blood all over my dress!!!! AND there is so much more but I can only highlight the major things to give you an idea of how bad my experience was!!! I waited 10 yrs to marry my high school sweetheart and best friend, and these people managed to ruin the two most important events of my life- they were only a small piece of the whole wedding pie and were not competent enough to just do their job! After one disaster with a bride and groom you would think they would make sure our wedding day was PERFECT!!!!! I know it sounds hard to believe but I will soon have pictures together of this pathetic thing called wedding day limo service, and I will be glad to post them. (pictures of limo driver with red gas can filling tank in front of house, pics of my photo asst under hood of car, SUV parked a block away, AND BEST furious bride jumping from SUV-you'll probably have a good laugh. I can't even understand how they have any decent testimonials because I have since heard several similar horror stories about them.

I was a member since I got engaged Dec 2008-Jan09 just never posted a lot and I'm regretting it now because I see how helpful the site is and believe this wouldn't have happened to me if I chatted a lot more often.

Thank you to those who are supportive and understanding. I'm not a new member just posting a complaint and I'm not a lurker, I just didn't use the site as much as I probably should have. I'm just putting my real story out there it's not made up and it's not exaggerated-there's actually a lot still left out. I'm just trying to make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else but you can take your chances and question the vendor if you truly believe for a second that they would even admit one of these things happened. I didn't know how else to warn people so i thought coming on this site again might save others.

I think most of us believed her because of previous problems with this vendor.

Re: PLEASE READ!!!! Horrific wedding day limo experience

I am not surprised -- my brother and SIL used this company as well (2 years ago) and it was a disaster!!

They sent the black limo to the bride's house (it was supposed to be white!) the driver was 30 minutes late after calling 10 times because he was 'lost'. Then he was totally rude and wasn't even wearing a tux! Then, there was no A/C in the limo!!! This was AUGUST!!!!! We were dying. He was driving so fast that the poor photographer (who was following behind) couldn't even keep up. AND he had no idea where he was going to get us to the reception hall -- basically had to keep his window thing open the whole time so we could tell him where to go. Nightmare.

There were other problems too -- I would NOT recommend this company to ANYONE.

My brother and SIL took them to court and got their money back, by the way. So to the OP, definitely don't let them get away with this!! The judge ruled in their favor when the company couldn't even be bothered to show up in court on the day of the case!!

This is one of the most terribly run businesses EVER and I can't believe they are still in business.

Re: PLEASE READ!!!! Horrific wedding day limo experience

Wow thank you for your post and since you have more than '3' posts maybe now people will believe my story is true. It is just amazing how many things can go wrong with these people, it's like they have a bunch of preschoolers running the show. The wedding day is supposed to be so spectacular and when your first vendor (limos) shows up and completely messes everything up it leaves you sick to your stomach- not a nice feeling after getting married!!!

I'm glad to hear that your brother got some money back but, like I said earlier you can never get that day back.

girls this STORY IS REAL! i know her! so stop your b itching..

I am confused, who is b itching?

And no offense to the OP but can you blame some people for being skeptical after you see that the person has only 3 posts? It's not a personal attack, no one said anything negative, I was simply stating a fact... that she had only 3 posts and I just thought that was weird, especially after reading so many vendor 'raves' from people with only 1 post, so obviously the opposite can happen as well.

its just rediculous that people always jump to conclusions and think ppl are faking. some people come on here everyday and read the boards, but dont post. there is no rule stating they have to post. and it's not a personal attack on you ,everyone does it!

From what I read in this thread most of the people who responded to this post did believe the OP and didn't think she was faking.

yes they were paid in full when they messed up the first event so I couldn't back out of wedding contract-trust me I wanted to in the worst way. My sister & MOH is dealing with company for now because she doesn't want me to be dealing with it just weeks after my wedding. The owner has been much like his manager blaming us for not telling the limo where to park and he doesn't see the broken mismatched glasses 'as a big deal'. What is yelp because I want ever opportunity to put a review or compliant in???

Hey here is the link to Yelp it is a website for real people and real reviews - you can also post a review via yellow pages I hope this helps!! You can also do a search engine for the company name + reviews and a whole bunch of other websites pop up - so you can spread the word Ps. apparently a lot of reviews are along the negative lines. I hope you take them to court and get your money back plus the suffering they caused you on your wedding day. Keep us posted ...and for the record for their knowledge ~ on your wedding day eVeRyThInG is a big deal - the nerve of them!!!

Re: PLEASE READ!!!! Horrific wedding day limo experience

WOW!!! That is just horrible!!! I almost booked with them when I was going to get married in Oct but when I called the next day to add another car they didn't reserve my car but took my deposit so we thought it was fishy and thankfully we were in the window for a refund but it took 3 months to get it back. I think it was a sign. I have heard so many horror stories about them so I'm happy that I was able to get out.

I am soooooo soo sorry that you had to go throught this. I couldn't even imagine. That was beyond low. I think you should definately report this to the BBB.
