I would like to post a sign at the church to ask guests to refrain from posting pictures of us during the ceremony on Facebook. It's such a pet peeve of mine. I've invited everyone who I want to witness us. I don't need the world to see.Any ideas for a friendly sign? Maybe something catchy...something that rhymes?

Crashing- maybe you could put a nice little note on the program?

Not sure if I'll have programs, but what would it say? I am trying to phrase it in a friendly way.

I've seen a couple of things on other blogs:'Please be nice and turn off that device'
'Welcome to our unplugged wedding. We invite you to be fully present with us during the ceremony. Please turn off all cell phones and cameras.'

Are you concerned with them tagging you in pics or posting pics on their own pages? If you just don't want them ending up on your page, you could change your setting to approve all posts that you're tagged in. You can certainly put up a sign or mention in a program, but you probably won't be able to stop everyone.

My concern is that I absolutely hate Facebook, and unless I post a picture of myself, no one else needs to either. Call me old-fashioned...that's just me.

'Our wedding is a day we won't forget, please refrain from posting pictures on the internet'
'Everyone's here that needs a look, please refrain from posting images on Facebook'
...or something to that effect?
Thank you! I like something like this.

Do you have FB or not? You say you hate it but if you dont have FB people cant tag you. Or is that you dont want any pics of your wedding even on your friends personal pages?

I would tell them the church is very strict and doesn't allow photography or have your priest say it. I've seen it done this way because some churches really don't allow it!

I think she is along the right track. Before the ceremony starts have someone announce that cell phone ringers should be shut off and no pictures during the ceremony. You can also have the ushers tell people as they are directing them to their seat.
I find people don't read signs.

As I would respect your wishes, you know it's a losing battle. Unfort. We live in a social media digital era. You will have the few idiots who say, oh I didn't see that or with the attitude that its their Facebook you can't tell them what to post.I hope you don't have that issue.

Maybe spread the word through a few friends on each side (and maybe with some help from the MOB/MOG), and then have the priest say something about it before he starts? Like possibly even before you and the bridal party walk down the aisle (I'm just thinking you won't want that on video).I'm planning on asking friends to add our wedding hashtag to whatever photos they post that way we can see any and all, and any ones I don't want posted, I can ask that person directly to take it down. Maybe creating an online photo gallery that people can post their photos to, but that you have to have a password to, might deter them from sharing on FB?
