Please tell me this year is going to get better...UPDATE & THANKS

I know I've been doing a whole lot of complaining around here lately, but it just seems like there's something else every week. My father had cancer, and subsequently, surgery to remove it; the day he finally went back to work, he wound up in the hospital with heart problems. Now, FH is seriously ill and it could completely change his quality of life drastically. He spent most of his childhood sick and in and out of hospitals and was finally free of the worst of it for about 9 years now, and suddenly, it's all come back with a vengeance. I feel so helpless because there's not a damn thing I can do to make him feel better and to fix this. I can't even support us if something happens and he can't work.

I know there are people in far worse situations all over the world, but I really wish, if there's a higher being, he/she would cut me some slack. Am I paying for being lucky enough to afford this wedding when people can't afford to eat or put a roof over their head? I know I'm not the nicest, most selfless person out there, but I also know that I am a good person and think that I do my small part to make the world a slightly better place. And it's not like I haven't suffered and struggled throughout my own life, far more than most of the people I know, so I feel like I've more than paid my dues (although are we ever really finished paying our dues in life?).

I guess when it rains it pours. I just wish it would rain over someone else for a little while.

Going thru some turmoil now as well, so I feel for you and having to deal with illness of loved ones. FH's is at a CT hospital right now by his sister's side.

Thanks ladies. I know it's not like I'll get any answers or enlightening information, but it sure does help to be able to vent it to someone other than my FH or my family members.

I know times are tough right now.. just hold on to those near and dear.. ask God for His blessing for those you love and remember it's OK to feel bad.. it's OK to feel mentally exhausted. That's why you have FH and family.. so that all are there for each other.

I pray everything turns out OK!

I wish you all the best in getting through all this. I had a really, really bad year last year and I remember how it felt. It has taken about a year to turn around and things seem to be getting better. Still, one little scare of something bad and I get thrown back into the feelings like I had from all the bad events last year.

Just when you think you can't take another thing happening, it will happen and you will pull through. If you stay strong you will make it through and things will turn around. Sometimes it may feel like that day will never come but it will.

I know that's true. I always come out the other side a little bit stronger than I was before, but I've really got no desire to be any stronger, you know?

On the positive side (yay, there is a positive side!)...FH just found out that his business problems are probably going to work out, although there are no guarantees right now, so that certainly made us both feel a little better!

Silver lining....

We are here for you to vent to anytime. I hope things with your family and FH get better!!

sorry those things are happening, i hope your fh gets better real soon, on the bright side i guess it makes us appreciate the good times even more
