Please vote on p. 1/2 which bag you like the best!!!

Having just returned from VS, I am thinking of getting my BM's cute summer bags from there, with samples of parfume/lotion/body wash? I am also thinking of adding a neck accessory to the bags (either a necklace or a light scarf).

What do you think? And yes you can beat me up on this one, b/c its less important and I haven't made up my mind yet.

Is this their only gift?

Are you talking about those sample size bags with all of the lotions and such?

I think that s-u-c-k-s, you are cheap and you should give them good gifts like from Tiffany or somewhere or make something they could use. Try again. j/k

I think that that is a great idea. I got my girls necklaces and earrings and I wasn't sure if that was enough...maybe I'll do that also!

If this will be their only gift-no

Ok here is my real response. If they are all into the VS flavors sure, why not?? I always like to personalize each gift for each lady to let them know I thought of them. Do they all like VS fragrances

I think if the necklace is from tiffany's then maybe it would probably be ok - but I would give them a bigger gift esp if they have done a lot for you. jmo

This would be a nice gift along with something a bit more substantial. I am not saying go for broke but these young ladies have invested alot of money and time in your wedding and the gift should reflect that.

I am only having a Moh,my sister. I plan to get her a spa gift certificate for a manicure/pedicure/massage/facial and a tiffany bracelet. She has to travel to get here, pay for her dress and accessories and for her two kids who are also in the wedding.

Well, 2 of the BM's are also getting their hair done on my acct. Some of them are into VS, but others don't care for it due to prices.

How much should I expect to be spending on each girl?

I am trying to do smaller gifts, b/c my bm's haven't done anything for the wedding, b/c they all live far from each other and me. So for some of them, the dress is the only expense, for 2 of them is a relatively far travel distance, so they'll have to travel and stay in hotel.

I think thats a cute present, you could always give them a $25. certificate to VS with it or something like that.

I don't think there's necessarily a 'right' amount you should be spending but you should go for a 'right' gift for them. Not something thats just easy. I spent different amounts for my BMs because they got different items.

~$175 for my sisters (MOHs)
~$100 for his sisters (I know not fair, but TOO bad)
~$100 for my friends

I spent $100 on each bridesmaid and $150 each for my two MOH's.

I don't think a necklace has to be from Tiffany's to be nice - that just means you are overpaying for the NAME!!!! You can find a beautiful necklace at almost any jewelery store and not have to pay for the name.

I am not trying to knock Tiffany's but I don't think it is necessary!

I was just about to come over here and say that its not a matter of the price but what you get. You could give one girl a candy and that would be priceless to her. I think personalizing the gift to the person is the best route to go. Not some sort of an assembly line kindda carbon copy gifting, ie what's good for one is good for all, I don't think that works best. IMO

JMO-if this is their only gift, absolutely not.

Maybe you could get the girls something they wouldn't or couldn't normally get themselves, with a lot of thought involved.

We are paying for everything ourselves and don't have a lot of $ left over, but each of my girls is getting a spa treatment and a small (small to me for this occasion would be a nice keepsake or something of the sort) personal gift as well. The flower girls are each getting pearl earrings, journals to draw pics of the wedding for me, and a bag of treats....their sisters who I didn't ask to be in the wedding are each getting a pair of stud earrings in their birthstones (one ruby, one emerald) since I want them to know they are special too.

I want this to be better than any birthday or Christmas present I've already given them. If I can throw away thousands of dollars on flowers and food, I can afford to get my girls something extra nice.

P.S. None of my bms live in the area, they aren't even doing my showers (my older sister and my FH's sister are). That doesn't mean that I wouldn't get them just as nice gifts as if they could do more, there is a reason I picked each one of them to be in my wedding..

Just my opinion

July- that was such a good point. I have to keep that in mind, blowing so much money on flowers etc I better make sure I'm doing right by my girls!

Alina-I think it's a nice gift! I love the VS lotions, etc.

I would have to agree with Shamma - personalizing the gift to each individual is the best way to go.

Putting a price tag on a gift doesn't mean you love the person more (that's like comparing sizes of our engagement rings to see whose FI loves them the 'most') - it's the thought you put into the gift that makes it meaningful and special.

I used a VS bag as my bag for my sisters wedding. It matched my gown perfectly.
