my first cousin JUST had a baby 3 weeks ago and wants to come to the wedding with her husband and OBVI the baby! We have A LOT of little kids in the family (FH's sister has a 1.5 and 3 year old, etc) but because the wedding is a SAT NIGHT we decided early on NO babies NO exceptions....BUT now I have to tell my FIRST COUSIN NO?
I want to make an exception because: 1) she is breastfeeding so its not like she has the CHOICE to leave baby @ home 2) the baby is such a peanut...not like a 1.5 year old who can run around and wreak havoc 3) My dad has 3 sisters, one of which is the mother of this cousin...and I am SOOOOO nervous that this is going to cause some huge family feud RIGHT before the wedding..
My fiance is ADAMANT about not making an exception bc he thinks we'll hear it from everyone else who had to pay for a sitter and juggle kids around.
PLEASE HELP!

I'm really surprised they would want to bring a newborn to a wedding. I don't think it's safe for the baby to be around so many people. Everyone will want to be handling the new baby all night. It's going to need a crib. Where would you put it? Think about the noise. How can the baby sleep? She may just have to get the baby used to a bottle and pump for that night. She didn't discuss this with you beforehand? It seems a bit late to suddenly decide that her newborn has to come to your wedding.
I agree with this, but it should be up to the parents if they want to deal with the baby at the wedding as opposed to bride and groom
If they want to bring a newborn I would let them 1 because its harder to find a sitter for newborns, its not like the kid will be running around screaming all night and you dont have to pay for it. and if people cant understand why the baby was allowed as oppose to their 3 monsters then they are ridiculous
dont stress

Imo, if your not allowing FSIL to bring your future neices and nephews to the wedding you can't allowt his person to bring their newborn.
When you are all mentioning 'no kids' - what is the age range??? Under 18? I ask b/c my FH has a HUGE family and there are kids...no newborns, but the youngest, right now, is 5...will be 7 or 8 by the time of the wedding.
I feel like I can't tell him to tell his family that there can't be any kids...am I crazy??

Re: PLS HELP - No Kids Policy BUT...
Just to set the story straight...our siblings DIDN'T want to have their children at the reception because they want to be grown ups that night! They have babies between 7 months and 4 years old and none of our 3 sisters and 2 brothers wanted their kids at the party. They all want to drink and dance all night long!!!
All the kids will be at the church to be there when we are married.....

My aunt and uncle brought my 3 month old cousin to the wedding. At first I really wasn't happy with the situation, but I had to let them (everyone they were related to adn would trust would be at the wedding).
Honestly, you will NOT realize a newborn is there. They don't do anything- they dont run around the room or cause a commotion. They're just there..in fact I think she slept most of the time. I dont know why I made a big deal in the first place. You'd have no idea there was a baby there.
