Where do you draw the line with inviting ppl with guests ??
fhs cousins are like 'am i invited with a guest?' 'how about me?'
im like dude, uve been seeing this person for 2 months and we had already made the list .......
y does everyone feel they should be invited with a guest?
When you have 255 ppl coming u can have everyone with a guest
i told everyone we need to see when we get replies but i just want to tell them all no lol

Re: Plus 1's
I know it will offend people, but we didnt invite a lot of single ppl with a +1.
If you are engaged, you get a +1 (obvs)
If you have a long term bf or gf, you get a +1.
If you are single and wouldnt really know anyone at the wedding and be by yourself, you get a +1.
If you are in the BP, you get a +1.
The only exception we made was for 2-3 of FH's girl cousins who are single but throw a hissy fit if they dont get a +1 invite. So they bring random men to ppl's weddings and we never see them again

It really depends on you and what you can afford. We're inviting everyone over 18 with a guest just b/c I feel it's the right thing to do (even though that brings our guest list to over 325 people ). But I can definitely see the other side too.

Re: Plus 1's
This is what we're doing -- You get a plus one if: 1. You're engaged 2. You're living with the person 3. You're in a serious relationship and have been dating them for a while 4. You don't know too many people who are going to be at the wedding
It's your wedding. I don't care too much about the number of people, but I don't want a ton of people at my wedding that I've never met AND I hate when people bring friends just for the sake of bringing SOMEONE.

Re: Plus 1's
i think its mean to pick and choose. i was dating someone for 4 months and a person who is no longer a friend would not let me bring my now FH and I sat at a table being 26 years old alone with all my friends and their husbands and boyfriends. that was rude. When you are an adult you should be invited with a guest. I don't think it right for someone to make the decision as to how serious someone else's relationship is. I agree that teenagers are another story.
not trying to be mean, its a senstive topic for me.

Re: Plus 1's
I was very strict with +1's. We initially didn't have the space to have everyone on our guest list bring a date.
Anyone who is in a serious relationship & FH & I know the person they are dating was invited with a +1.
After we received No response we extended the +1 invite to some people who asked if they could bring a date.

I think that this is meant to discourage people bringing just anyone for the sake of bringing someone and it's up to the bride to decide who she wants at her wedding. These are guidelines.
If you're good enough friends with someone, I think it's acceptable to be able to determine whether or not that person should have a date based on how they talk about their boyfriend.
I tend to think in terms of my guests -- will they feel like they have to hang around with their significan others and will that keep them from having a good time? -- I've actually declined a few plus ones because it would be awkward to bring someone I had only been dating for a month or two.
Sorry it worked out that way for you but if one of my guests has the same situation, I would invite her with her boyfriend. Your situation seems to be the steady relationship I was talking about.

Re: Plus 1's
We are doing +1 for
married adults adults in a relationship 1 person who does not know anyone
Everyone else is a$$ed out. our wedding is not date night and we can't afford all of the extra +1s.

Re: Plus 1's
You only get a plus 1 when the person is living with the other person or they are married or engaged. As for Everyone else - screw them!!! Don't invite them with a plus one!!! Are they gonna pay for that extra person!! steups!!!

Re: Plus 1's
Our list right now is 288 and we have a min of 225 which is what we are hoping for in 'yes' RSVPs. We invited people who are married, engaged, living together or in a long term relationship (1 year or more) with '+1'. We just can't invite everyone with guests. It'll be a 300 person wedding and we can't afford that! The only exception we made was that we invited my 2 sisters with guests.
