Re: 'plus-sized' and wanting a baby

I was 'normal' weight when I got pregnant with my oldest... and I gained 85 pounds!!!! I got pregnant with my little guy 16 months later and I was still carrying some extra padding. I actually lost a few pounds my first trimester from all my healthy eating for the baby. it almost acted like an incentive - because I knew that everything I was eating would be going to the baby... and I only wanted the best for my little one. I gained a lot of weight ANYWAY (i had some big babies) but no where near 80lbs (I gained 60).

I was concerned about my weight when I got pregnant with Noah, but the doctor told me to simply be aware of what I was eating and to try to keep active and not sweat it to much.

GOOD LUCK LIZBETH!!!

ETA: I lost 40lbs of baby weight in the first 3 months after Robbie, but the remaining 45 were EXTREMELY stubborn. With Noah, I lost 30 lbs in the first month and 50 in the next 4. Breastfeeding REALLY HELPS.

I will try to lose the weight before trying to have a baby. I have never been fat, but i think it might be harder to lose the weight the heavier that you are.
My sister had put on a few lbs when she got pregnant and is having a hard time losing them.

I just saw this - my stepsister was obeses before she had both her kids - she didnt have problems getting pregnant, and had healthy pregnancies, but the weight never came off....
