Pocketfold Help

Pocketfold Help

FH said we can do pocket fold invites as long as I can keep them 'cheap'
yea... right...
Ugh.
So with that being said... do any of you know where i can get pocketfolds for $1 each or less?
I'm sure it's impossible but I figured I'd ask.

Also... would you mind telling me how much you are spending on your pocketfold invites as a whole? And whether you DIY or ordered them?

Thanks so much.

I need about 120 invites, and I really don't want to spend more than $300 on invites total (not including postage)

Re: Pocketfold Help

they are not expensive at all at cardsandpockets.com

you can order everything from them or you can buy the paper at AC Moore or Michels

Re: Pocketfold Help

cardsandpockets.com are $1 for smooth and canvas and $1.50 for metalic. (I thought the canvas looked nice but was thinner than the smooth)

Joanns has 12 x 12 cardstock paper online in packs of 50 ($17.45) which is a lot cheper then buying it piece by piece from the in-store bins.

I figured I needed 2 packs of card stock for invites and inserts. (for 150 invites) I'm not using a mat/border.

Then whatever the ribbon costs. So- you can do them for $300 if you cut your own paper.

It can get expensive if you buy the precut inserts from them.

That's where i'm at a loss... i have no idea how i'd cut my own paper.
I figure, we might order printed invites, like cheap plain ones to mount in the pocketfolds... the direction card is provided for me... and we might do postcard RSVPs, so i'd need to make a reception card right? nothing else?

I'm usually so good when it comes to DIY projects...but this has me all confused.

Re: Pocketfold Help

I tried going the pre-printed invite route, but couldnt find any to fit.

The cards and pockets ones are 5 x7 and all the invites I found were 5 1/4 x 7 1/4.

I got a paper cutter for like $20 and they have the insert dimensions you need for each style folder.

If you are doing an postcard rsvp then you wont be able to do the 'signature' style folder but the other 3 would work

Also try envelopements .com. They say they will match any price. Maybe their folders will work w/ preprinted invites if they are larger. I havent ordered samples from them though.

Re: Pocketfold Help

Check out the clearance section in Kate's paperie! There are some packs of 25 pocketfolds for $17 I think. You just have to make sure they have your color in stock!

I've never heard of them. Is it a storefront or a website?
Thanks for the heads up!

cardsandpockets has a matte salmon & a pink one for $0.75 & I believe some 2 toned ones as well. I'm ordering the pocket folds & I brought a wilson's invitation kit that i plan to mount to the pocket fold. I believe you can get these kits off ebay for like $10 for 50 invitations & envelopes & reply cards & envelopes.

While we're on the pocketfold topic, how are you attaching the actual invitation to the pocketfold? Does what I'm asking even make sense??

I attached my STD's with the double stick permanent tape. it wasnt that hard. If i wanted to have saved more money i could of cut them myself but the lady did the cuts.

for my eparty i made menus and i made the table cards, i also printed them, and cut everything down to size. i made 2 layer menu cards for each place setting

I'm sure I could borrow a paper cutter, I know a lot of teachers lol.
How do I know how large to make the inserts?
This might sound stupid..but can any printer print on any size paper? i mean, i'm not sure how to format this or anything.

I feel like such a spaz!!

I ordered a sample invitation kit from cardsandpockets.com and then used the inserts they sent for that as my templates. I actually had Office Max cut all of my inserts. It cost maybe $10 to have everything cut. I bought my pocketfolds at cardsandpockets.com and bought my mat paper at paperandmore.com.

You can look on cardsandpockets.com and it tells you sizes to cut for each one, it depends on the pocketfold size you order.

And yes the printer can print on any size paper, you just have to format it correctly, if you want FM me, and I can tell you later tonight how FH did it, hes at work right now, and hes my little computer geek so I can't help lol but he can
