Police officer gift.. please help...

ok ladies i need your help once again. fh is going into the police academy in january. we decided to do token gifts for christmas because we have been living like rockstars since we've been wedding planning. i would like to know what i can i give him that may be useful while in the academy. i was also thinking (wE ArE CATHOLIC) is there a saint for protection, etc.. that i could give him a medal of??? IDEAS please ladies.

Definately give him st. michael, you could have his last name engraved and then maybe add a gift certificate so he can have his shield # engraved in July when he graduates? Try Tri-County in Levittown or Argyle Jewelers in Babylon for the charm. HTH!! :D

he's going to need a lot of gear once he gets into the academy... my husband must have spent hundreds of dollars on uniforms, etc, first for the academy, and then once he was out on patrol. I'd look into if there's something small you could get him to help him out with that.

Or even something like a wallet with a place to put his shield once he has one, etc.

I know it's really practical, but hey, sometimes that's what you need!

Is he graduating from the NYPD?? When my friend graduated last year, I bought him some navy blue under armour to keep him warm since he was on foot post and other practical things that he would definately need.

I just re-read your post. I thought he was graduating in January

My FH is graduating next month and I got him an HD TIVO with a year's subcription so he won't miss any of his soccer games while he's out saving the world....

my brother is in the nypd. he wears a st. michael pendant around his neck, also a small shield charm with his badge number. my mom bought him the st. michael when he graduated the academy

A gift certificat for the police store where he has to buy his supplies is always good he will be spending a LOT of $$$$ in January on his supplies so this will really help!

My FF is a police officer, he said that he will definitely need a flashlight, as most police departments won't pay for this. (rechargeable Maglite, and a smaller stream light that fits on the belt)
