Poll.......

How many of you moved into a house right after you got married? Still live in an apartment? If you did not move into house right away, how long did it take you after you got married before you got a house?

We got married in July of 2001, and moved into our house in August of 2001.

We're renting right now and will most likely stay here for a while after we get married before we move to a house. After shelling out for the wedding we will have to save up again for a house. If we could afford to we'd probably move into a house now.

We presently rent and we will be buying either a house or condo maybe 1 yr after the wedding. We want a big down payment so our mortgage isn't sky high because I'd like to be a stay home mom!

He purchased right about the same time we met, so the house thing is done (just needs some expansion work to make us both fit comfortably)
I moved in with him before we were even engaged.

We've rented for the past few yrs - got married in Oct and are going through the process of buying a condo right now!

We're hoping to then buy a house within the next 2 years.

I already own a condo, so FI moved into that. About a year after the wedding we'll start house-hunting - hopefully turn a nice profit on the condo for the down payment!

We're renting right now, and plan to stay at this apartment for a few years. We can't beat the rent and it will allow us to save substantially for a house.
